Carme Escales

Barcelona, 1970. Graduated in Journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. She combined her degree with work as a writer and announcer at Ràdio Nou Barris, and at Europa Press (TV). She was an intern at TV3's Telenotícies and at the news programs of Belgian television Notélé. She has been a collaborator of El Periódico since 1992, where she has published interviews and reports on social, economic, and health issues. She writes about tourism for Traveler and Descobrir magazines; about health, in Diari de la Sanitat, and about the current state of the journalistic profession, in Capçalera magazine. She is co-author –with Dr. Eduard Gratacós– of the book9 months from within(Paidós) and author ofBehind the Scaffolding of the Sagrada Familia(ed. UOC) andBelgium.
