The Rolling Stones guitarist, Ronnie Wood, will offer a very special performance on September 12, 2026, at Sala Razzmatazz. Away for one night from the mega-stadiums he usually fills with his regular band, the British musician has chosen a much more intimate club format directly integrated into the Cruïlla Concerts series. It will be a rare opportunity to see him up close.

At 78 years old, the legendary guitarist will display his purest and most rock-and-roll side accompanied by a lineup of top-level musicians and special guests who will join him on stage.

This concert promises to become one of the most unique and exclusive musical evenings of the autumn in Barcelona. The ideal plan for lovers of classic rock in an intimate setting.

The Catalan pop-folk trio Els Amics de les Arts will be one of the main headliners of the La Mercè 2026 festivities. The band will offer a free concert on September 25 at 10:00 PM on the stage of Avinguda de la Reina Maria Cristina, one of the most emblematic spaces of the Música Mercè program, where a massive attendance of public of all ages is expected.

The performance will be part of Barcelona's main festival and will be conceived as a journey through the great classics of their discography, as well as their most recent releases. A unique opportunity to enjoy live one of the most recognized and beloved groups of the Catalan music scene. 

The Palau de la Música Catalana will host on September 29, 2026, the visit of Adelmo Zucchero Fornaciari, one of the most representative artists with the greatest international projection in Italian rock blues. As part of his new tour Under the Moonlight, the musician arrives in Barcelona to offer a concert commemorating the 25th anniversary of his hit Baila, one of the most popular and recognized songs in his repertoire.

Beyond this celebration, the evening will serve to review a career spanning several decades marked by the fusion of blues, soul, and rock, as well as his collaborations with music legends such as Eric Clapton, Miles Davis, and B.B. King. Zucchero's unique style and the acoustics of the Palau promise a night full of emotions, rhythm, and community.

The Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium will be the setting on September 1, 2026, for the return to Barcelona of The Weeknd. The Canadian artist arrives in the Catalan capital after having sold out tickets for three consecutive nights in Madrid before more than 150,000 spectators, consolidating his status as a great icon of global pop.

The concert is part of his world tour After Hours Til Dawn, produced by Live Nation, which for its European leg will feature American rapper Playboi Carti as a guest artist.

The show is designed to organize a celebration of his album trilogy consisting of After Hours (2020), Dawn FM (2022), and Hurry Up Tomorrow (2025). With a high-impact visual staging and a large-scale technical deployment, the concert will review the great hits that have defined the artist's career in recent years.  
 

Sala Atrium presents Bartleby, the theatrical adaptation of Herman Melville's story, signed and directed by Llàtzer Garcia. Based on Carme Camacho's translation, the play sets the action in a Wall Street office where the routine of a well-off lawyer is disrupted when his new scrivener, Bartleby, decides to respond to any order with the emblematic phrase: "I would prefer not to."

Performed solo by Albert Prat, the play shows how this passive and mysterious resistance spreads through all aspects of the protagonist's life. The lawyer ends up trapped in an existential dilemma that profoundly transforms him, due to his mixture of perplexity and compassion towards the rebellious worker. A work that invites us to reflect on work, disobedience, and alienation in modern society. 

Teatre Condal presents 53 Sundays, a comedy written and directed by Cesc Gay that talks about family relationships and conflicts between siblings. The story revolves around three siblings who must meet to make a crucial decision about their 86-year-old father, whose behavior is starting to be concerning.

The meeting, which should be rational, quickly turns into an emotional ticking time bomb where any detail brings out tensions stored for decades.

With the author's usual fine humor and sharpness, the play features a cast made up of Julián López, Pepa Charro, Xavi Mira, and Candela Serrat. The text offers an incisive and amusing reflection on the passage of years, filial responsibilities, and the bonds that unite and confront families. 

The Goya Theatre hosts the fourth consecutive season of Poncia, the acclaimed monologue starring Lolita Flores, which can be seen from September 2 to 27, 2026.

Written and directed by Luis Luque based on Federico García Lorca's classic The House of Bernarda Alba, the show gives voice to the family's maid after the tragic outcome of the original story. It is an unprecedented look at the events that convulsed the home.

Within an atmosphere of fog and silence, Poncia prays for Adela's death while talking to herself and dialoguing in the distance with Bernarda herself and her daughters. The play, enriched by the original musical composition by Luis Miguel Cobo, features a masterful performance by Lolita Flores that has earned the applause of critics and audiences over four seasons.

The La Biblioteca Theater hosts from September 22 to October 18, 2026, the show No miris, a creation by the collective Cultura i Conflicte under the direction of Joan Arqué. With research and script by Teresa Turiera-Puibò and dramaturgical advice by Marc Angelet, the play presents a thriller about the gray areas of the human condition.

The plot stages a gallery of characters trapped on the border between political commitment, betrayal, guilt, and silence, seeking to put words to the abysses of a family and an entire society.

The production features a top-level cast made up of Pep Cruz, Marta Marco, Erol Ileri, and Gemma Martínez. Through their interpretation, the piece reflects on uncomfortable questions: how to recognize a monster, if we ourselves could become one, or where love remains when one has to love a father repudiated by his environment.  

More than 9000 kilometers separate Barcelona from Seoul. A distance that, however, seems increasingly shorter: kimchi and bibimbap are already beginning to be part of the city's gastronomic offer, while K-pop, with phenomena like Demon Hunters and groups like BTS, has crossed borders and fills stadiums around the world. A distance that, increasingly, has shortened through the screen: K-dramas have turned their stories into global phenomena and Korean cinema has long ceased to have a single title —Parasite— as its calling card. 

For this reason, it may no longer be surprising that the Korean Film Fest is held annually in the Catalan capital, an event that this year reaches its sixth edition with more than 25 films and a program that allows approaching Korean cinematography beyond major international successes. This is demonstrated by the retrospective dedicated to Park Chan-wook, which will allow recovering titles such as Decision to Leave or Sympathy for Lady Vengeance. 

The fact that a film is made by someone under 22 does not necessarily mean that it is naive, minor, or unambitious. In fact, it is often in these first works, still largely free from the conditions and constraints of the film industry, that the freest and most authentic perspectives emerge. With the aim of giving space and visibility to these new voices in Catalan cinema, the u22 Festival celebrates its seventh edition this year, once again turning the Joan Miró Foundation into a meeting point for emerging young filmmaking talent.

This year’s edition presents 24 short films competing in the Official Selection, offering an opportunity to discover new ways of making cinema through the eyes of a new generation. The screenings are complemented by talks, hands-on workshops, retrospectives, and u22Lab: a range of activities that extend the festival beyond the screen, opening it up to experimentation and the exchange of ideas among young creators.

Sant Jordi has April 23 marked in red on every reader’s calendar. But despite the importance of this celebration, the focus on books doesn’t end there: for more than four decades, every September La Setmana del Llibre en Català (Catalan Book Week) returns to put literature in the spotlight. For ten days, once again coinciding with the Festes de la Mercè, Passeig Lluís Companys becomes a major meeting point for Catalan books and literature — a place to discover new titles, browse books at leisure, meet authors and publishers, and be surprised by unexpected new reads.

This year’s edition features 125 new titles and brings together 282 publishing imprints that publish in Catalan. They include new works by authors such as Empar Moliner, Cristina Genebat, Etna Miró, and Regina Rodríguez-Sirvent, alongside international voices such as Adania Shibli, Leonardo San Pietro, and Clare Pollard.

Books help us portray the world, but also to broaden our perspective. Through their pages and words, texts bring us closer to realities we may not know, give a voice to what we still struggle to explain, and sometimes force us to question our own understanding of reality. Because the conflicts, changes, and questions that shape the present and the future are also explored between the pages of books, in publishing houses and magazines. And for three days, Barcelona will become a meeting point for some of the voices seeking to put these ideas into words: more than 40 professionals from the worlds of publishing, journalism, research, and critical thought will come together in the city for the second edition of READ, the International Books and Ideas Convention.

The event will combine its professional dimension, fostering meetings and partnerships between publishers and magazines from around the world, with a programme open to the city during the afternoons of the convention. The debate will thus move beyond the conference spaces and into the heart of the city, with activities taking place at venues such as the MACBA Chapel, Pati Manning, and Plaça de la Gardunya.

As is tradition every September 11, the events of the Diada will culminate in Barcelona with the free concerts organized by Òmnium Cultural on Passeig de Lluís Companys. The Festa per la Llibertat reaches its 24th edition, gathering a multitude around the Arc de Triomf to enjoy music in Catalan.

The musical day will kick off at 7:00 PM with a session by DJ Trapella, who will open the night by fusing alternative and mainstream sounds. At 9:30 PM, it will be the turn of the evening's main act: the Valencian group La Gossa Sorda, who will offer their last concert in Catalonia and the only free one of their tour, reviewing anthems from their career such as Camals mullats or Esbarzers. The closing of the party will be handled by DJ K-ZU at 11:45 PM with a selection of the greatest hits of Catalan music.

Beyond the night concerts, Òmnium Cultural's program will begin at 12:00 PM noon with the presentation of its main projects and campaigns. In addition, the space will host a new edition of the MerCat fair, a meeting point that will bring together a hundred entities and businesses from all over the territory that work in the promotion of the Catalan language and culture.  

Barcelona's Festa Major returns from September 23 to 27, 2026, and will fill the capital with nearly 500 activities. From Mercè Arts de Carrer (MAC) to popular culture exhibitions, passing through the varied musical offerings of BAM and Música Mercè, the city will be the showcase of an unprecedented cultural display.

This year, the opening speech that will kick off the celebrations will be given by Antoni Falgueras, a master winemaker from Sants and the fourth generation at the helm of Celler de Gelida, a centenary shop founded in 1895 on Vallespir street.

The great international novelty of this edition will be the presence of Shanghai as Guest City, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the twinning between Barcelona and the Asian metropolis.

More than a hundred artists from both the Chinese city and the resident community in Catalonia will bring the creativity, music, street arts, and traditions of the so-called "Pearl of the Orient" to the different spaces of the festival.
