While the Barcelona coastline is immersed in the America's Cup regattas, the time has come for the youth. After weeks of training, the youth category teams will begin to compete, which include the six competing in the America's Cup and six invited teams, among them the Sail Team BCN.
In the third edition of the youth category in history, the event stands as a showcase for its sailors, to reach the professional level, and also as a path to the senior America's Cup teams.
The twelve teams will compete divided into two groups of six in a first phase. The sailors representing the official America's Cup teams will compete in one group, while the invited teams will do so in the other, including the Barcelona team.
After eight races, the top three teams from each group will compete together in four more races to decide the two best boats, which will then go to the final, to be held on September 26.
The date will coincide with the first day of the final of the Louis Vuitton Cup, from which the team that will compete with Emirates Team New Zealand to win the Auld Mug in the America's Cup will emerge.
