The Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the world's largest audiovisual fair, kicks off this Tuesday with the forecast of exceeding 50,000 attendees. The show expects to improve the figures achieved in the 2022 edition, which allowed leaving behind the covid measures seen in its first year in the city, but which stayed at 43,700 attendees. The first symptom of improvement will be the contracted area, with 57,000 square meters spread across six pavilions, 30% more than last year. Exhibitors will also grow, reaching 1,055, a 25% increase, with protagonists such as Samsung, LG, Crestron, Panasonic, Lang, Epson, Harman, Philips, Sharp, and Leyard.
In this gradual recovery of normality and after having overcome the threat of a strike by taxi drivers, the ISE will fulfill one of its pending tasks with Barcelona: to kick off the fair calendar. After its first two editions in the city, the show will be able to be held when it is due, the first week of February, dates that the pandemic had made impossible. In 2021, its first year, it was held in early June, in short sleeves and only for two days, waiting to see if the situation would subside in February 2022. It was close, but a new covid wave forced it to be postponed to May, making the Mobile World Congress (MWC), the neighboring show it aspires to equal, start the year.
Now that covid sounds distant, the audiovisual fair will fill the Fira de Barcelona venue in Gran Via de L'Hospitalet de Llobregat from this Tuesday until Friday, coinciding with the IoT Solutions World Congress (IOTSWC) and the Cybersecurity Congress, organized by Fira de Barcelona. The main trends that can be seen in the stands will be immersive sound solutions, advances in LED technology, the rise of screens with 8K resolution, the consolidation of augmented reality and virtual reality with the popularization of mappings, and the combination of artificial intelligence and machine learning to offer increasingly personalized content.
Among the more than 1,000 exhibitors participating in ISE, there will be a total of 73 Catalan companies, 7% more than last year, when there were 68, according to the Department of Business and Labor. In the Generalitat pavilion, there will be Adtel, Air Parfum, Amate Audio, Audiotecnologias, Aiwa Europe, Be LIT Studio, Blackfish, Ebantic Systems, Eurecat, Global Room, Herta, iDISC Information Technologies, Invelon Technologies, Kumux, Lavinia Services, Ledscontrol, Marvut Technologies, NRDmultimedia, Oktics ATZ, SeeSound and TMM-Group. Likewise, at the Barcelona City Council stand, there will be Estudio Gurugú, Reality Telling, Inmersia, Brickken, Immersium Studio, Pixeldreams, Union Avatars, Wildbytes, Univrse and Broomx.
In Catalonia, the audiovisual industry is made up of more than 3,600 companies, with a turnover of 6,703 million euros and a combined workforce of 31,000 workers. Barcelona is the central hub of the sector, with 57.1% of jobs and 61.7% of companies. In addition, the arrival of the audiovisual fair has led to the opening of offices of multinationals such as Lang and Infiled.
