The commercialization of the first Ebro cars is now a reality. The automotive group has allied with Movento, Moventia's automotive division, and opened its first dealership this Thursday on Balmes street in Barcelona. Thus, the first models of the brand ---the SUV s700 and the SUV s800--- will begin to circulate, which have been produced since November at the former Nissan factory in the Zona Franca.
The historic Ebro brand of trucks and tractors, which disappeared in the late 80s, reborn in April from the alliance between EV Motors and the Chinese Chery, settling in the former Nissan plant in Barcelona. The factory had been paralyzed for almost three years, after Nissan's closure in December 2021, and it was this agreement that allowed it to be restarted.
Now Ebro takes another step forward with the opening of its first dealership in Barcelona, under the Movento Ebro brand, and plans to open two more in the coming months. The second will arrive in Palma de Mallorca in February, and the third will open in Sant Boi de Llobregat during the first half of this year.
The automotive group also plans to manufacture more than 20,000 vehicles this year, as well as incorporate more former Nissan workers into the workforce. Precisely to guarantee the reindustrialization of this Zona Franca plant and the recovery of jobs, the Govern announced a loan of 2.4 million euros to Ebro in December.
