The world's largest audiovisual fair maintains its landing date in Barcelona

The ISE will arrive in the Catalan capital in June after saying goodbye to Amsterdam. It foresees a reduced edition, with in-person and virtual programming, in line with what the organizers of the MWC, the largest event held at Fira de Barcelona's venues, expect.

The Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), the world's largest audiovisual industry fair, has just confirmed that it maintains its landing date in Barcelona, from June 1 to 4, after other shows such as the Mobile World Congress (MWC) and Automobile Barcelona have also done so. The executive director of ISE, Mike Blackman, assures that it will be possible to hold an in-person congress in Barcelona in June thanks to the arrival of vaccines and their impact on the reduction of covid-19 cases. It is expected to have a lower attendance than in previous editions, when it was around 80,000 congress attendees.

Despite ISE's commitment to holding an in-person edition, rewarding exhibitors who come to Barcelona, the fair will offer a digital program for congress attendees who cannot travel. It also contemplates the possibility of holding small local events in Germany, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom, the three main countries of origin of attendees to this fair. Likewise, the organizers of ISE will allow the cancellation without penalty of exhibitors in the coming days or reduce their degree of participation, adapting to the different needs that attending companies may have.

If nothing changes, June and July will be intense months in the Fira de Barcelona venues, after a long season of paralysis of fair activity, with small interludes such as the Saló de l'Ocupació and BizBarcelona. These events, more oriented to the local public, have served to begin testing new measures to guarantee safety at congresses, with temperature taking before entering the venue, one-way routes, screens to protect exhibitors, and hydroalcoholic gel everywhere. After these two shows in October last year, the first show to arrive this summer will be ISE, followed by MWC and Automobile Barcelona.

The Mobile stated a few weeks ago that it is working "tirelessly" to have everything ready for this year's edition, from June 28 to July 1, which will be different from previous editions, without the image of thousands of congress attendees displaying their accreditations around the city and in a more reduced format, which will mix the in-person experience with the virtual. Likewise, Fira de Barcelona announced last week that Automobile Barcelona will celebrate its 41st edition from July 8 to 18.
