The Barcelona tech and entrepreneurial community and beyond will meet again at Tech Spirit Barcelona, consolidated as a benchmark for the local and international entrepreneurial community. In its fifth edition, the event promoted by Tech Barcelona will feature more than 150 speakers and 60 conferences.
The event will once again be held at the Llotja de Mar on December 11 and 12, with the aim of giving visibility and dynamism to the entrepreneurial and technological ecosystem. In this edition, it will focus especially on national and international investment opportunities within the ecosystem.
In addition, it will place special emphasis on deeptech technologies, which are growing in Barcelona to the point of having made it the first hub for these deep technologies in Southern Europe. It will also highlight the role of social and impact startups, which are also increasing in the city thanks to actors such as Ship2B and Norrsken.
The tech community event will also address the role of relevant actors from both the local and international spheres, as well as the situation of the Catalan capital within the European ecosystem and its connection with other international agents.
To address the role of the city and the multiple startups and technological actors that make up its entrepreneurial fabric, the event will feature speakers such as the president of Engine Ventures, Israel Ruiz; the director of BlackRock, Xixi Richter, and the associate director of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, Pep Martorell.
Also participating will be prominent speakers such as Xavier Asensi (Inter Miami CF), Nela Braun (NATO Innovation Fund), Quim Domènech and Sara Pastor (DAZN), Andrea Gamero (Google), Frank Bulens (Imec Expand), Naroa Zurutuza (Giga-Unicef), Camila Tomás (Ccentxp by Puig), Pablo Pantaleoni (LifeStance Health), Paula Comes (HP), Pep Viladomat & Tobias Henz (McKinsey), Elisenda Bou-Balust (Vilnyx, Apple) and Alejandro Martí (Mitiga Solutions).
To promote the development of this technological and entrepreneurial ecosystem, Acció will organize 600 meetings between Catalan startups and national and international investors. The Generalitat's agency for business competitiveness will do so with the aim of facilitating the connection between entrepreneurs and potential investors, partners or clients, as well as increasing their visibility and opening new opportunities in international markets.
Additionally, the event will include the awarding of the prize for the Catalan startup of the year. It will do so based on the Catalana Pitch Competition also organized by Acció. In the competition, 24 finalist startups from the health, ICT, and deeptech sectors will present their projects, with the prize as the goal but at the same time giving visibility to the Barcelona ecosystem and its potential, which wants to continue expanding.
