Qida registered record figures in 2023 with its home care services and products for the elderly, people in situations of dependency or with functional diversity. The company obtained a gross turnover of 60 million euros, with growth that multiplies that of the previous year by 2.3.

This gross turnover includes the salaries of the company's home workers, which it channels to employees without keeping them in the company. Excluding these salaries and other movements, Qida's accounting turnover in 2023 was 16 million euros, a figure that quintuples that of the previous year, when it was three million.

Through its high-quality and technology-based home care services, Qida has a team of 180 professionals in offices, 20% more than in 2022. In addition, during 2023 the company reinforced its management team with the incorporation of Hugo de Bot as the company's new director of finance, strategy and talent.

Qida focuses on 2024 on expanding into new Spanish cities and on promoting technological advancement to facilitate home care
The company, based in Sabadell, assisted more than 4,500 families in their homes last year, bringing the total number of families served by the company since its founding in 2018 to around 12,000. Qida operates in Catalonia, the Community of Madrid, and the Basque Country with the will for more families to be able to reside for longer and with a better quality of life in their home, given the growing aging of the population.

All this, in a year in which the company raised 18 million euros in a financing round that closed in March and was led by Kibo Ventures together with impact funds Ship2B Ventures, Creas and Fondo Bolsa Social, as well as individual investors. The round was the most significant in the history of its sector, and one of the main ones in the health sector in 2023, as reflected in a Biocat report.

The company has allocated this capital injection to continue strengthening its technological product and its team, with the aim of offering quality care to the senior segment at home, as well as to people in situations of dependency and functional diversity. In addition, the company is committed to closing new agreements with the main leaders of the private sector in this area.

Opening to the public sector

The founder and CEO of Qida, Oriol Fuertes, highlighted that the company faces this year after "an innovative proposal in the public sector, where it is more necessary than ever to innovate to integrate health and social care." And it is that Qida decided last year to enter public home care tenders, and to bet on strengthening coordination with the public health and social system. In this line, the company has managed the Home Care Service (SAD) of the Consell Comarcal del Baix Empordà since July.

Fuertes, who was awarded by the ESIC business school with the Best Entrepreneur Award, focuses 2024 on expanding into new Spanish cities. This growth of its activity territory will occur in parallel with the technological advance that the company pursues to facilitate home care. Looking ahead to 2024, Qida will also maintain its commitment to the public sector.

The company will do so from the conviction that it is necessary to "integrate the person's experience at home with the health and social system to be able to act more proactively and preventively," according to Fuertes. This commitment will be complemented by the forecast of closing new contracts to collaborate with private actors in the sector and launching new products that improve the user's quality of life, so that they can continue to reside in their home.
