Few exponents of haute cuisine in Barcelona have embarked on the adventure of reaching their clients' homes. Whether out of necessity, conviction, or opportunity, all of them share a caution and little certainty that the delivery experience will evolve beyond the social and economic situation caused by the pandemic. However, there is a willingness to take advantage of the context to reformulate the cuisine they execute into a format that fits in price and presentation with a wider audience.

Dos Palillos
Albert Raurich was going to open the shutters of his Dos Palillos precisely on October 15, after having his benchmark Japanese gastronomy establishment closed since the lockdown. Full refrigerators, production underway, and a blow. Although perhaps it has helped him to make a project he had in mind a little over a year ago a reality: bringing Dos Palillos to his clients' homes. The other, opening a delicatessen with delicatessenof Asian inspiration, is still under development. The offer is structured, and entirely based on the dishes that were served in the bar, the most informal area of the restaurant: ten dishes that will rotate. Its famous daily menu is also available for domestic enjoyment and consists of five dishes with dessert and a bottle of wine for 68 euros. A feast at home with Dos Palillos requires, however, planning. Orders are placed via Whatsapp 24 hours in advance, either for delivery or for pick-up at the restaurant (c/Elisabets, 9). The menu, as well as a detailed description of its conditions, can be consulted on their website. Their hours are from Wednesday to Sunday, depending on whether a take-away or home delivery service is required, which, by the way, is their own and costs five euros for orders under 49 euros.
Cinc Sentits
Jordi Artal was one of the first Michelin-starred chefs to launch his exclusive line for delivery under a new brand: Sentit Comú.In it, Artal accommodates a more price-adjusted proposal, not quality-adjusted, with dishes ofchup chupand traditional memory without losing its particular author's touches. Grandma Sofía's cannelloni, the creamy veal, or his mother's meatballs are dishes that for Artal taste like home and comfort and that only require a small intervention from the client to enjoy them, following the instructions included in the order.
Sentit Comú will also be a reality in the dining room when Cinc Sentits can reopen. In the restaurant's annex room, Sentit Comú will be installed for those who want a quick and more economical service, such as an executive daily menu. For now, this future experience that can already be lived in our homes offers a menu that can be consulted on its website. Orders must also be placed there, with the option of scheduling delivery or take away on the day and time of interest, within the schedule from Wednesday to Sunday from 12 to 19 hours. Home delivery is free if the order costs more than 60 euros.
Enjoy/Share
With the first lockdown, chefs Xatruch, Casañas, and Castro saw the opportunity to do a small test at Compartir, Cadaqués: their menu could be enjoyed at home in take-away format. In August, they launched two boxes: thesnacks, with a compilation of fun starters to have a bit of the essence of Disfrutar in our homes and that of cocktails. Given an enthusiastic reception to this initiative, they embarked on the path to find the formula that would allow them to offer a service of deliveryand oftake awayhighest, and à la carte.Currently, its gastronomic proposal comprises 26 references of snacks, dishes, and desserts with recipes created for the home delivery format, very daily with the touch of fantasy and excellence that has always characterized the complex cuisine of Disfrutar. Two iconic dishes are not missing, such as the Panchino filled with Disfrutar caviar or the Spider crab with avocado cream, ponzu sauce, and Compartir trout roe.
A notable novelty is the recent launch on its website of a new online store where you can buy tableware, kitchenware, and textiles. The delivery dishes, however, are offered only through the Glovo and Macarfi platforms. Those who wish to opt for takeout or to know and plan an experience at home in advance, their menu can be consulted at this link. If the order is placed by phone for pickup at Disfrutar, by calling 933 486 896, the team provides personalized attention tailored to the diner's wishes, within what is possible.
Al Kostat
Al Kostat, the informal sibling of Alkimia, capitalizes on chef Jordi Vilà's commitment to bring his more traditional cuisine closer to his customers, at an adjusted price. The menu ofdeliveryandtake awayis a fairly faithful reflection of that of the restaurant, selecting the dishes that travel best home. It is advisable to consulton his Instagramthe novelties, which are varied and practically bi-weekly, in its off-menu section. In essence,Al Kostat offers dishes with generous portions, designed for sharing, celebrating the season with its most representative products, like beans with potatoes and squid stuffed with horn of plenty mushrooms or fricandó meatballs with mushrooms.
Orders can be placed via Whatsapp (636 291 445) or by calling 932 076 115. Vilà, although having a very complete menu, offers the possibility to customize orders, attending to the wishes of its clients whenever possible. For this, and to consult the available wines from their cellar, it is advisable to call. Their hours are from 12 to 15 hours and from 19 to 21 hours every day except Sunday, with a single service at midday.
Via Veneto
Calling Via Veneto and having Pedro Monge himself answer the phone is a testament to the excellence in service that this Michelin-starred restaurant has always championed. No one like him to convey with his mellow voice the respectful affection of the dining room he manages, advising on dishes, portions, and everything that the client he cares for so much might require at home.It is not the first time that Via Veneto moves to the homes of its loyal customers. Already in March, they started the delivery and take away route with the firm commitment to continue serving their clients beyond the doors of their restaurant. With a path already trodden, chef David Andrés has developed a menu that combines the most representative dishes of the house with new additions based on seasonal produce in all its splendor: sautéed mushrooms with botifarra, boneless kid shoulder or escudella of carn d'olla.
The complete menu can be consulted at this link. Delivery has an additional cost of 15 euros and covers Barcelona city and metropolitan area. Although the restaurant advises placing the order 24 hours in advance, they have the flexibility to attend to urgent requests. They are open daily for midday service, from 12 to 15 hours. On Fridays, they add dinner service, available between 20 and 21 hours.

Dabiz Muñoz and Dani García land in Barcelona
Dabid Muñoz has just presented GoXo, his virtual restaurant in Barcelona only available through the Glovo platform, while Dani García did the same with the La Gran Familia Mediterránea project, in alliance with Just Eat. Both chefs, who together accumulate six Michelin stars, break down the barrier of their establishments, bringing proposals endorsed by their recognized professional trajectory to a wider audience. Muñoz, in this aspect, states that he has created GoXo, his most daring bet, to offer high cuisine to enjoy at home. With GoXo, he assures that the essence of his gastronomic proposal remains intact.
Muñoz, true to his style, develops in GoXo what the chef has baptized as "illustrated gochismo": tasty food created under the unmistakable seal of the Madrid chef's Asian technique at affordable prices… for a limited time. GoXo lands in Barcelona with unprecedented dishes such as caldoXOs noodles, smoked rib tacos or Mumbai lasagna, and will be exclusively available on Glovo until November 30. To place an order, the user has to access the restaurant through the GoXO bubble, which is available in the Alta Cocina category of the Glovo app.
García's concept goes a little further, creating a project that brings together eight kitchens in a single proposal: from Asian food, gourmet sandwiches, Spanish or Italian cuisine to healthy options or a cocktail bar at home. For all tastes, or as the brand itself says, to enjoy the three-starred chef's cuisine with the family, offering dishes that can please all members.
Signature catering maintains its type
High-level catering has always been in good health in Barcelona. Good proof of this is the decades-long survival of companies such as Semon, Aspic, or Mercès. With prestige and a loyal clientele built generation after generation, these three city benchmarks choose to take care of the client more than ever and reinforce the vocation of service and personalization of their proposals, whether for shopping in their physical stores or at home. All of them, if required, send their products to any corner of Spain with speed and efficiency.Large-volume events have been redirected towards more individualized formats. Thus, as Blanca Permanyer from Aspic catering explains, events continue to be held, both presentations and group events in companies, sending food, coffee break or aperitif to each attendee at home, in individual packaging. A new format of digital socialization through meetings where, eradicating the mise en place, results in an adjustment of the price of the experience for the client.
The essence of these signature caterings is underpinned by the possibility of acquiring their products in their stores, all of them located in the upper part of the city, with a wide range of food and delicatessen products to consume at any time of the day. The artisanal bakery or pastries of Semon, Cristina Mas de Xaxás relates, made daily, are the object of pilgrimage for many customers who take advantage of the visit to buy gastronomic products to consume at home.
Good eating in Barcelona has always had a vast representation with high-quality standards, and both Barcelonans and tourists have filled their tables or bought their products. Now, in this uncertain and new context for most high-level restaurateurs, proposals flourish with the will to find a way out for a sector that seeks to conquer a local public with a more modest pocket. Waiting for better times or finding the formula that allows them economically sustainable subsistence.
