Asabys Partners will manage, starting in the fourth quarter of this year, resources of 200 million euros to continue investing in the health sector in Spain and Europe. For this purpose, it will launch its second investment fund, Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments II (SAHII 2), with capital from institutional and private investors, including Alantra Investment Pool (Alantra and Mutua Madrileña) and Banco Sabadell.

In line with the purposes of the management company, created in 2018 by Josep Lluís Sanfeliu and Clara Campás, the resources will be allocated to the creation and consolidation of companies that lead projects in the fields of digital health, medical devices, and biotechnology in Europe, with a significant focus of action in Spain. "The objective is to transform disruptive science into real solutions for patients," states Clara Campás.

From the management company, which has accumulated close to 120 million euros and has made 13 investments, the technological progress in the health field is valued, with countless opportunities "to solve the challenges that medicine must face," specifies Josep Lluís Sanfeliu.

The president of Asabys Partners details its investment strategy, diversifying its portfolio with "highly innovative" biopharmaceutical and health technology companies that generate synergies, which translates into unique know-how made available to the portfolio companies.

With its strategic partners Alantra and Banco Sabadell, Asabys has invested in recent years and contributed to the growth of companies Agomab Therapeutics, Amelia Virtual Care, Anaconda, Cara Care, Inbrain, Koa Health, Medasense, Medlumics, Nuage Therapeutics, Ona Therapeutics, Sidekick, Splice Bio and Origo Biopharma. Regarding this last company, Origo Biopharma, the management company recently proceeded with its divestment, in a purchase operation led by Agomab Therapeutics. So far, it has been the first and only divestment made by Asabys.

Jacobo Llanza, CEO of Alantra Asset Management, highlighted about the new investment fund "the opportunity it will offer our investors in alternative asset management products highly specialized in strategies related to venture capital."

For his part, Raúl Rodríguez, deputy general manager of Banco Sabadell and director of BS Capital, highlighted "the bank's sustained commitment to innovation and to those emerging sectors that also provide impactful solutions to society and particularly in the field of health".
