Webhelp opens its new offices in 22@, with 23,000 square meters

The Spanish subsidiary, heir to the former Sellbytel, invoices 220 million in 2022

The multinational Webhelp, specialized in customer service and outsourcing of business services, has concentrated its offices in Barcelona in a new center, located in 22@ north. With an area of 23,000 square meters, it will accommodate the 3,200 workers that the company employs in the Catalan capital, with 40 nationalities and 70% being foreign. Until now, the company's workforce was dispersed in seven buildings spread across different points of the technological district.

The building where Webhelp has been installed was promoted by Acciona and the pan-European real estate investment manager Tristan Capital. Acciona announced in January 2020 that it had allied with Tristan Capital to promote an office complex on Selva de Mar street with an investment of more than 100 million euros. After the completion of the works, the customer experience services group has leased it.

Webhelp's new headquarters in Barcelona aims to be an attraction for talent, as well as retaining it, encouraging a return to in-person work after the pandemic. "Barcelona continues to be a key place for attracting talent," defends the president of Webhelp Spain, Helena Guardans.

In the four buildings that make up the offices, rest areas, training rooms and rooms for yoga or meditation, showers, medical and lactation rooms, and a canteen that allows taking a snack or ordering dinner have been included. Terraces and parking spaces for electric vehicles and bicycles have also been integrated. It has LEED Platinum certification. "We have managed to get everyone back," Guardans remarks.

The inauguration of the offices coincides with the growth that the multinational is registering in Spain, where it also has centers in Valencia and Malaga, reaching 5,500 workers throughout the country, 13% more than a year ago, a growth that will be repeated this year. The subsidiary, heir to the former Sellbytel, has invoiced 220 million in 2022, 10% more than the previous year. More than half of its income comes from international clients. Globally, Webhelp has registered a turnover of 2,500 million euros, 15% more, with a workforce of 120,000 employees spread across more than 60 countries.

The multinational company of French origin has its origins in the old call centers. With the digitalization of the economy, its business has transformed and is provided from any channel, whether through WhatsApp or social media. For example, they develop chatbots, simultaneous translation tools, or explanatory videos about products, relying on artificial intelligence and automation. "Companies used to outsource services to get a better price; now they do it to get better service. We are specialists, and they can focus on their core business," reasons Guardans.

From Barcelona, they specialize in offering their services to sectors such as fashion and technology manufacturers, handling customer service, technical support, and b2b sales. In Spain as a whole, they have a portfolio of 100 clients.
