TravelPerk will move to 22@ at the end of the year

The online business travel agency has rented 9,400 m2 of offices on Almogàvers street

"We will open a new headquarters in Barcelona with the mission of connecting the members of our community in a pleasant and sustainable way," announced TravelPerk co-founder and CEO, Avi Meir. The chosen property is located at number 160 Almogàvers Street, in the 22@ district, and is owned by the developer Conren Tramway, with a lease operation of 9,400 square meters advised by the consultancy Savills and advanced by Expansión. The opening is scheduled for the end of 2022.

Founded in 2015 by three former Booking.com employees, TravelPerk's corporate headquarters has had various locations, always in Barcelona, the city where the online travel company, specialized in corporate destination management, was created. Some of these relocations have coincided with the two years of the pandemic, during which the company has had to adapt to the fall in the tourism market.

The new offices, "which will reflect who and what we are," says Avi Meir, "will be a meeting point to share our values and a space to work better collectively and individually. We believe that this new and exciting space will help us live these experiences every day."

This relocation is in line with sector demands: "Companies are increasingly looking to ensure the sustainability of their headquarters and provide greater quality and well-being to people. We are seeing new demands for larger spaces, especially from tech companies, and the idea is to optimize productivity through hybrid models in which the office is very attractive," says Marie Laure Fenet, Director of Offices at Savills Barcelona.

TravelPerk, which has a workforce of more than 600 employees ---400 of whom work in Barcelona--- and offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, and the United States, began 2022 with new expansion plans in Europe and the United States, after closing an investment round of 100 million euros and becoming a new Spanish unicorn, with a valuation of more than 1,000 million euros.
