The month of August continues to advance and the cultural agenda does not stop. Barcelona faces a weekend full of proposals that combine the popular and neighborhood essence of the main festivals, with classical dance, great tributes to the history of rock and leisure proposals for the whole family. If you stay in the city, take note of the best events to fill your agenda from Friday to Sunday.
The Festa Major de Sants 2026 begins

When the lights of Gràcia begin to dim, the Sants neighborhood takes over with one of the most anticipated festivals of the Barcelona summer. From August 22 to 30, the neighborhood will offer a popular, family-friendly, and neighborhood celebration.
Actress and director Leticia Dolera will be in charge of officially kicking off the festival with the opening speech on Saturday, August 22, to inaugurate a week full of concerts, correfocs, parades, and activities for all ages.
The main attraction is once again the decorated streets contest, with 11 participating streets. This year, original proposals stand out, such as the scientific laboratory on Finlàndia street, the magical workshop of chocolate and giant chocolates on Guadiana street, the recreation of golden Hollywood on Galileu street, or the decoration of Plaça de la Farga based on the movie Lorax to raise awareness about the environment.

The mistress of ceremonies for the night will be the renowned Pitita Queen, in charge of enlivening the atmosphere from the stage and singing the songs that will make the audience jump. In addition to being able to pair the night with the varied gastronomic offer from the venue's chefs, participants can opt for great prizes such as a paddle surf tour at dawn, flotation sessions at Flotarium, or relaxing massages for couples at Spa Serenitee.
Swan Lake at Teatre Tívoli
All weekend.
For the fifth consecutive year, the Kyiv Ballet settles in Teatre Tívoli (until August 30) to perform one of the most important works in the history of ballet: Swan Lake. Tchaikovsky's work offers a classic display that revolves around the struggle between good and evil.
The plot follows the love story between Prince Siegfried and Odette, a girl who is a victim of a spell that condemns her to turn into a swan during the day, and the threat of Odile, the black swan. A perfect opportunity to enjoy an exceptional dance company and one of the essential pieces of classical dance.
Musical tributes at Teatre Apolo
Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22
Live music will be the main protagonist of the weekend nights thanks to a complete agenda of tribute concerts honoring some of the most iconic bands in universal music. On Friday, August 21, the band Rayo Stoned arrives at Teatre Apolo within the framework of the LegendFest - Festival de Leyendas. They will present an energetic concert that reviews the great anthems of The Rolling Stones with top-level musicians from the national rock scene.
On Sunday, August 23, the band ShowBeat will close the weekend at Teatre Apolo with the show A Night with The Beatles. The proposal stands out for its fidelity, as they use original instruments, period costumes, and a staging that recreates in detail the experience of the Liverpool quartet's concerts.
The magic of Tibidabo in summer
A family leisure option with the best views of Barcelona can be found at Tibidabo Amusement Park. This summer, it is celebrating its 125th season full of novelties.
Apart from its mythical attractions such as the Talaia, the Giradabo or the Roller Coaster, this year the park has incorporated the new free-fall attraction Merlí for the most daring, as well as a laser show to close the day.
Families can also enjoy the Park Mascots, who debut a very active role throughout the day and star in the 4D Colors film at the Dididado cinema. In addition, the experience is completed with the new gastronomic bet signed by chef Rafa Zafra, located in the Masia building, in Tibidabo square itself.
These August plans in Barcelona show that you don't need to go away to live unique experiences. You just have to choose a plan, go out and let yourself be carried away by the rhythm of a weekend that has everything to be unforgettable.
