The Tibidabo Amusement Park brings back one of its great summer classics. The arrival of the Laser Show is part of the Tibidabo Amusement Park's summer campaign, during which the venue extends its opening hours until 10:00 PM every day in August. This extension allows families to take advantage of cooler hours and enjoy an entertainment offer that goes far beyond the usual attractions.
Among the notable novelties this season is the premiere of Platja Tibidabo, a new leisure and rest area designed to cope with high summer temperatures. This space has parasols, sun loungers, sandpits, and shaded areas where you can take a break in the middle of the day. In addition, the itinerant animation of Els Bombers (The Firefighters) travels the park's streets to refresh attendees in a fun way with water guns.
Plans and shows for the whole family
Tibidabo's artistic program features different proposals for all ages. On the one hand, the Tibidabo Mascots star in the new family show La volta al món ballant (Dancing Around the World), a musical full of rhythm, color, and participation where the little ones can get to know the park's characters up close. On the other hand, the Marionetarium hosts the second season of Cabrioles de Fil (Thread Capers) (by the company Més Cabrioles), a classic of puppet art that keeps the park's scenic tradition alive.
Gastronomically, the main novelty this year is the opening of Masia Tibidabo, a new restaurant located in the park's historic Masia building. Led by chef Rafa Zafra, this restaurant offers a quality culinary proposal based on tradition and local produce.
Tibidabo: Barcelona's amusement park
The Tibidabo Amusement Park originated in 1899, when pharmacist and businessman Salvador Andreu i Grau promoted the Societat Anònima El Tibidabo (The Tibidabo Public Limited Company) together with a group of businessmen of the time. The objective was clear: to create a space for leisure, recreation, and culture for the citizens of Barcelona at the top of the city.
The revolution arrived on October 29, 1901 with the inauguration of the Funicular. This means of transport allowed Barcelonans to ascend to the summit quickly and comfortably for the first time. From that moment on, what began as a meeting point with small cafes and observation points rapidly transformed.
The first mechanical rides, street shows, and attractions that would become city icons began to arrive. Over the years, the park expanded its offerings and, today, it is the oldest amusement park in Spain and one of the oldest in the world.
