The GoodNews kiosks will arrive in Paris

The company invoices one million euros in 2021, opening a total of 15 establishments, in which it sells newspapers and coffees

In Barcelona, new types of kiosks are proliferating, reviving a sector that has been in crisis for years and is characterized by closed shutters. Brands like News&Coffe, Diverscoop, and GoodNews are proposing new ways of selling newspapers, accompanying them with coffees and other complements.

One of them, GoodNews, has closed its first fiscal year with a turnover of one million euros and the opening of a total of 15 points of sale, mostly disused kiosks that it has recovered, but also premises that it has reformulated to include the sale of press and coffees. Its business is also complemented by an e-commerce channel through which it sells its own coffee brand and coffee machines, an offer that it also provides to companies and SMEs.

Currently, the company has a presence in Barcelona and Madrid, but plans to continue growing this 2022. It estimates that it will close the year with more than 50 spaces, consolidating its presence in the Catalan and Madrid capitals, as well as expanding further. In this sense, GoodNews will open its first kiosk in Paris in March, but also wants to reach Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Berlin, and Lisbon.

This growth will be accompanied by an increase in staff. The number of employees is now 60, distributed between Barcelona and Madrid, and is expected to exceed 150 throughout this 2022. Since its creation in September 2020, the kiosk company has managed to raise four million euros in three funding rounds.
