The Consorci de la Zona Franca de Barcelona (CZFB) closed 2022 with a profit from ordinary activity of 14.8 million euros, slightly above the 14.1 million euros of the previous year. Operating income stood at 61.7 million euros, also above the 54.9 million euros of 2021.
In 2021, the entity led by Pere Navarro executed the sale of 150,000 square meters for the expansion of Mercabarna, which boosted its result to 69.1 million euros, with 55 million euros coming from what is considered extraordinary activity. In this sense, the entity's ordinary operations are, basically, the rents it receives from leasing the land in the industrial park and the buildings it owns, such as DFactory and Nexus (Zona Franca) and Media Tic (22@).
On the other hand, the CZFB has continued to reduce its financial debt, placing it at 8.7 million euros, a 25% reduction. The entity's net worth amounts to 573.9 million euros. This year, the procedures for the second phase of DFactory, dedicated to industry 4.0., are expected to begin, which will involve an expansion of more than 70,000 square meters. Currently, the building has an occupancy of 80% of its 17,000 square meters of surface, with 30 companies installed.
