Music, water, and sunset. This is the combination that the company Sea You offers us this summer in Barcelona. Accustomed to organizing paddle surf outings to watch the sunrise or sunset, they have also opted to include a cultural plan in their catalog: floating concerts while the sun hides behind the mountains.
The plan is simple: both the audience and the artist depart from Barceloneta beach with their paddle surf boards until they enter the sea. Once there, the artist begins to play their music while the sky begins to paint itself with the orange of the sunset. A proposal that unites culture, summer, and sport.
Sunset Floating Concerts, Sea You's proposal
The Sea You nautical club presents Sunset Floating Concerts, a pioneering proposal in the country that combines sea, sport, and acoustic music. It is a concert totally different from what we are used to: instead of standing among the crowd, the performance is enjoyed in the middle of the sea.
Both the artist and the audience will paddle at a safe distance from the sand. There, a large format board (known as the big paddle) will be found, which for the occasion becomes an improvised floating stage. The musician settles on it, with a small chair, their acoustic guitar, a microphone, and the necessary courage to sing on a constantly moving surface.
Around them, about twenty spectators on paddle surf boards float in a circle forming something similar to an orchestra pit in the middle of the sea. The audience follows the concert seated, lying down looking at the sky, or gently paddling while the first chords of Brazilian samba, singer-songwriter songs, or acoustic versions of national and international pop and rock classics play.
The plan: rowing, music and a drink
Sunset Floating Concerts is an activity designed for everyone, without the need for prior experience on a board. The event begins at the Sea You Barcelona headquarters as evening falls (normally, passes are from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM to coincide with the change of light). After a brief explanation on the sand, the group paddles into the Mediterranean in search of the best location off the coast.
For a price of 25 euros, the proposal includes everything necessary to enjoy the afternoon: the paddle surf board with its paddles, the assistance of instructors, the floating concert and a drink included to toast in the middle of the sea. Capacity is limited by the number of boards available around the artist's platform, which is why tickets for these concerts usually sell out quickly. It is best to contact them or book online to experience this in person.

The idea of turning the sea into an auditorium
The idea of bringing a concert to the middle of the water was born three years ago almost spontaneously. After checking the great stability offered by the giant collective boards (boards that are usually designed for groups or schools), Sea You asked themselves a question: why not put a singer on board and bring music to where there is normally only silence and waves?
Taking advantage of the fact that the waters of Barceloneta are usually calm during sunset, they decided to do a pilot test. The result was a resounding and immediate success. The acoustics of the open space, the sound of the sea as a background and, above all, the atmosphere generated among spectators who do not know each other at all, make these concerts on the sea one of the most original and special plans of the summer.
The surf club behind this cultural proposal
Behind this very special initiative is Sea You, a project that began in 2020 at the hands of Séphora Lemaire and Luis Abril. They had a very clear objective from day one: to offer a different way to enjoy Barcelona without having to turn their backs on the sea.
The company started as a surf club driven by a group of friends looking to share waves. But, over the years, the proposal has grown and evolved to become a benchmark brand in the city that connects sport, culture, well-being and community.
The adventure began with the goal of reconciling professional life with the pleasure of leisure time. For this reason, their activities began to include outings such as a paddle surf route at sunrise before going into the office, a paddle surf session after work, sharing a meal in the sun, or enjoying an intimate concert in an unparalleled setting: the Mediterranean Sea.

Well-being, breathing, and the golden hour
The success of the floating concerts has opened the door to other activities on the water. Taking advantage of the fact that the sea is conceived as a space for relaxation and health, the club has added proposals to its program such as Floating Breathworks: guided breathing sessions, carried out in collaboration with schools specialized in well-being techniques such as Breaze. In this type of gathering, participants are invited to lie down on paddle surf boards in silence to work on deep breathing while the swaying of the water helps reduce stress.
Summer in Barcelona offers cultural, environmentally friendly, and very original plans that invite us to enjoy our free time. And the concerts on the waves organized by Sea You are a great example of this.
