Industrialization and the development of sustainable housing are gaining strength in the construction sector. The factory production of different building components, which are then assembled on site, reduces construction time by almost 40%, and sustainable building improves the quality of life for tenants and cities. It is for this reason that Renta Corporación and 011h, the construction company created by the founders of Privalia, have allied to develop one of the first industrialized housing developments in Spain.

This building will be constructed in the center of L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, and will feature eight homes of about 70 square meters distributed over three floors. The apartments will have terraces or balconies and, from the construction company, they assure that this is one of the most attractive characteristics for future tenants. The building has been designed based on passive construction criteria, such as the introduction of optimized ventilation systems, natural lighting, and the installation of photovoltaic panels. These homes will have a high capacity for energy self-sufficiency, and a great use of wood will be made, which will allow an 80% reduction in CO2 emissions.

The CEO of Renta Corporación, David Vila, has ratified the commitment of his company and 011h to environmental sustainability, health, and comfort in the construction sector, as well as the advantages of industrialization in this sector. "Industrialized construction and the use of renewable materials such as wood in the real estate sector are future trends and will have a positive effect in the medium and long term on progress towards greater environmental and social sustainability," Vila assured.

According to the builders of this new building in L'Hospitalet, the factory production of bathrooms, installation panels, and other components allows for a substantial improvement in the quality of finishes, and reduces the amount of waste generated. This process is gaining ground in the construction sector, and the co-founder and co-CEO of 011h, José Manuel Villanueva, assures that this is the future of sustainable construction. "At 011h, we are convinced that industrialization, the application of BIM technology, and the intensive use of data are the path the sector must follow when building sustainable homes," comments Villanueva, an entrepreneur who founded the online outlet Privalia together with Lucas Carné, also a partner of 011h.

To launch this new-generation construction company, Carné and Villanueva have partnered with Juan Velayos, one of the best-known executives in the real estate sector, having led Renta Corporación itself and also Neinor Homes. Other partners also participate in the startup, such as José Ojeda, Josep Barberà, and Àlex Valls. After raising ten million euros in capital, 011h's goal is to build 1,300 industrialized homes in three years.

Demolition work for the future development in L'Hospitalet has already begun, and the assembly of prefabricated elements on site is expected to start in June. The completion of the assembly work is scheduled for the end of the year.
