Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport has operated 304 private flights between February 25 and March 3, within the framework of the special operation for the Mobile World Congress (MWC). This figure represents a 99% recovery compared to the 307 private aviation operations carried out during the same period of the 2019 edition, as explained by Aena in a statement.

The main countries of origin for private jets were France, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Italy, the United States, and Germany. These aircraft included both long-range models, such as Bombardier and Gulfstream, and short-range models, such as Embraer and Cessna.

According to the airport operator, 73% more passengers passed through the VIP lounges of Barcelona Airport this past week than in a usual week. To make the congress attendees' stay more pleasant, special activities were carried out in the VIP lounges, such as the presence of a barista who prepared cocktails for users, a live Iberian product carver with tasting, and, finally, a presentation and tasting of vegan products.

In total, during the MWC celebration at El Prat, 6,145 takeoffs and landings were scheduled, with an offer of 1,140,966 air seats. This figure represents a 78% recovery of the 8,226 flights scheduled in the 2019 edition.
