Continuity at the helm of the Gremi d'Hotels de Barcelona. The business association has re-elected Jordi Clos as president, in office for more than twenty years, with only a small hiatus between 2019 and 2021. The owner of the Derby hotel chain and the Egyptian Museum of Barcelona has won the vote unanimously and will lead the entity until 2026.
"We face this new period with the utmost responsibility, motivation and energy," Clos said, "we will also do it with the extraordinary enthusiasm to continue working and contributing constructively and positively, to make Barcelona the best city to live in and to travel to."
Given the new mandate, Clos has defined the strategic lines to follow in the coming years, giving continuity to the work he has been carrying out in the last year and a half, when he rejoined at the request of the members of the entity, replacing Jordi Mestre. Previously, he had presided over the entity between 1999 and 2019.
Sustainability will be one of the pillars, improving the environmental, social and economic impact that tourism has on the city, but so will improving the positioning of this economic activity. The expansion of Barcelona Airport will be another of the management team's battle horses.
