The beginning of August arrives in Barcelona with a cultural agenda full of proposals for all audiences. Between August 7 and 9, the city has a great offer ranging from the big electronic festival at Parc del Fòrum to comedy theater, passing through live jazz, summer cinema, and live concerts.
Angle mort in Sala Versus Glòries

The comedy about job insecurity, co-written by Roc Esquius and Sergi Belbel, returns to Sala Versus Glòries. Angle mort is one of the great successes of this local theater, directed by Lluís Elias and performed by Berta Bahr, Ramon Godino, Antonio del Valle, and Rafaela Rivas.
The play tells the story of the boss of a small start-up who summons his three employees to the waiting room to announce an inevitable layoff. But what, in principle, should be a quick process, gets complicated in the "blind spot" of the waiting room, where everything the boss doesn't see happens.
Michael Legend, a tribute to Michael Jackson at Teatre Apolo

Teatre Apolo hosts Michael Legend, a show that, for many, is one of the best musical tributes to the King of Pop. This summer, the show comes renewed with the latest technological advances in lighting and sound. It is a show for all audiences and led by Ben Jackson, an artist recognized as the best Michael Jackson impersonator in the world. Alongside him, there is a live band, a dance troupe, and backing vocalists to perform, from beginning to end, the most emblematic songs of the artist's career.
Brunch Electronik Festival at Fòrum

This weekend, Barcelona has an event that, for many, is the most anticipated of the summer: the Brunch Electronik Festival. This city gathers great international electronic music artists at Parc del Fòrum along with a large representation of the local scene and the European underground.
Friday's session starts strong with techno founding father Jeff Mills, Haitian R&B artist Kaytranada (in his only concert on the peninsula this year), Miss Monique, and Paul Kalkbrenner. On Saturday, Eric Prydz, Cassius, the live performance of Floating Points, Acid Arab, or I Hate Models will take over. And on Sunday, the grand finale is led by The Blaze's DJ set, Mind Against, Parra for Cuva, and RY X.
Jazz Pretenders feat. Marian Barahona at Jamboree

Saxophonist and composer Jordi Blanch returns to the Mas i Mas Festival with his band Jazz Pretenders to demonstrate that jazz made in Barcelona is at the highest international level. The band shies away from classic jazz music labels and fuses it with the power of rock and funk. In addition, for this Friday, August 7, event, they will feature the voice of Marian Barahona on stage.
Family Cinema: FilmoXica at the Filmoteca de Catalunya

FilmoXica is a family film series that takes place at the Filmoteca de Catalunya. This year, the series is dedicated to an essential object in many children's summers: the bicycle. Exhibition Space Explorers: The ISS Experience at CC Arenas

On the fourth floor of CC Arenas is Eclipso Barcelona, a company that specializes in offering immersive virtual reality experiences. Its exhibition Space Explorers recreates the International Space Station at real scale so that we can feel like astronauts for a day. Everything that can be seen through the virtual reality glasses is real footage extracted from an Emmy Award-winning documentary. An immersive and very original way to discover what happens 400 km from Earth.
Fritanga! at Poble Espanyol

On August Saturdays, Poble Espanyol fills with live rumba, tapas, and a good atmosphere. A festive and fun outdoor atmosphere that features performances by rumba groups from the Barcelona scene. The concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. and their program includes bands such as Alma de Boquerón, Piratas Rumbversions or David Canal. After the first concert, another will be held at 10:00 p.m. and at midnight is when the event concludes.
Cancun, by Jordi Galcerán, at Teatre Gaudí

The Teatre Gaudí remains open during the month of August with Cancun, the comedy by Jordi Galcerán (author of great successes such as El método Grönholm), directed by Susanna Garachana and starring Gemma Deusedas, Cristina Brondo, David Olivares and Màrius Hernández. The play takes us to a Caribbean resort where two couples of friends share a vacation, but this apparent trip of disconnection ends in an intimate conversation that questions each one's vital decisions. A proposal that reflects on destiny and love based on comedy and irony.
Jordi Savall and Núria Rial at L'Auditori

On Sunday, August 9, L'Auditori hosts a classical music concert focused on the work of Antonio Vivaldi, performed by the ensemble Les Musiciennes du Concert des Nations. The concert features the direction of maestro Jordi Savall, soloist Núria Rial, and violinist Lina Tur Bonet leading the ensemble. In addition to the Vivaldian repertoire, the program will be completed with pieces by Albinoni, Geminiani, and Ferrandini.
Gigi McFarlane Band at Jamboree

To close the weekend on a high note, Jamaican and London-rooted singer Gigi McFarlane arrives at the Jamboree Jazz Club on Sunday. She will offer two concerts, one at 7:00 p.m. and another at 8:30 p.m., to make her audience dance to the rhythm of soul, funk, and R&B. On stage, the artist will combine her own songs with covers that care for and respect the essence of 80s and 90s music.
