One more year, summers in Catalonia feature top-level musical events distributed throughout different parts of the territory. The Costa Brava, El Maresme, or Sitges are some of the tourist areas that host major music festivals with top national and international artists.
This 2026, big names in music such as The Corrs, Joan Dausà, Clara Peya, Lax'n'Busto, Sopa de Cabra, Sílvia Pérez Cruz, Niña Pastori, or Ara Malikian, among many others, will perform on Catalan stages.
Cruïlla Festival 2026 in Barcelona
If there is one festival that defines the open, diverse, and Barcelona spirit, it is Cruïlla. The Parc del Fòrum hosts, from July 8 to 11, a new edition of this festival that has become one of the great events of the summer. The 2026 edition features a luxury lineup with international and national artists such as David Byrne, Pixies, The Black Crowes, Garbage, Suede, The Hives, Halsey, Reneé Rapp, Faithless, Two Door Cinema Club, Bomba Estéreo, Jovanotti, and Rigoberta Bandini.
Beyond the concerts, Cruïlla continues to bet on a multidisciplinary and solidarity festival. This year, the venue offers artistic installations, dance shows, and the already consolidated comedy stage. Comedians such as Ana Polo, Ana Morgade, Carlo Padial, Manel Vidal, or Joel Díaz will be in charge of adding a touch of humor to the festival nights.
Porta Ferrada Festival in Sant Feliu de Guíxols
Born in 1958, the Porta Ferrada Festival holds the title of being the oldest summer festival in Catalonia. The event is spread throughout the city in various venues such as Espai Port, the large-format venue Guíxols Arena, the acoustics of the Monastery, the Narcís Masferrer Auditorium Theater, and Sala Las Vegas. The kick-off will take place this Friday, July 10, at Espai Port with maestro Jordi Savall; on Sunday, July 12, the Australian duo Angus & Julia Stone will bring their melancholic folk to the same Espai Port.
As July progresses, the festival will feature the instrumental jazz of Snarky Puppy (July 17), the very personal voice of Benjamin Clementine (July 18), the flamenco of Israel Fernández (July 24), and a double night on Saturday 25 with the flamenco of La Tania followed by the musical proposal of Maria Arnal. The July program will close with the greatest hits of Sopa de Cabra (July 26).
August will open the doors of the Guíxols Arena on the 6th with a major festival night featuring Los Delinqüentes, Joan Garriga and Mariatxi Galàctic, while El Petit de Cal Eril will bring his pop to Sala Las Vegas. The Teatre Auditori will host the duo of Marc Parrot and the Quartet Brossa on the 8th. One of the great international events of the summer will be the return of the Irish band The Corrs on August 9th, accompanied by Dea Matrona. The second week of August will feature national artists such as David Bisbal (August 12th), Rigoberta Bandini (August 14th), Mónica Naranjo and Soleá Morente on the 15th. The closing will feature the piano of Clara Peya (August 16th) and the ancient music of Europa Galante and Fabio Biondi at the Monastery on August 17th and 18th.
Terramar CaixaBank Festival in Sitges
The Terramar de Sitges offers a musical experience in the historic Novecentista gardens of the town. The festival features a wide variety of artists ranging from popular music, national pop, and large-format concerts. This year's edition will kick off on July 31st with Sílvia Pérez Cruz, paving the way for an early August full of familiar faces. Sergio Dalma will take the stage on August 1st, followed by Joan Dausà on the 2nd, promising one of the most emotional nights of the festival. Theater and comedy with the audience will arrive on August 4th with Quim Masferrer and his show Bona gent.
Some of the international concerts of this edition are Earth, Wind & Fire Experience by Al McKay on August 5th, making way for violinist Ara Malikian (August 6th) and the return of the Canarian singer-songwriter Rosana on the 7th. Saturday, August 8th, will be a great Km 0 pop party with the double bill of Els Amics de les Arts and Ginestà. The final notes of the festival will be reserved for the tribute show This is Michael (August 9th), the flamenco essence of Rosario (August 10th), the rock of Sopa de Cabra (August 11th), and the great tribute God Save The Queen on August 12th.
International Music Festival Castell de Peralada
The Peralada Festival returns, one more year, to offer proposals of genres that are often diluted in macro-festivals, such as lyric, small-format opera, and contemporary and classical dance. The historical setting of the gardens and the Castell de Peralada provides acoustics and an atmosphere difficult to match. The program kicks off on July 17 with one of the highlights of the edition: the inaugural recital will bring together the voices of Benjamin Bernheim and Ermonela Jaho on stage. The following day, Saturday, July 18, the festival will offer an immersive proposal with Festival Perelada, 40 years on the way, a scenic-gastronomic experience that connects art with the haute cuisine of Empordà.
Welsh bass-baritone Bryn Terfel will offer a lyrical recital on the 25th, the same night that the collective ÒH!PERA (in collaboration with the Gran Teatre del Liceu) will present Estètica i Massacre, a commitment to newly created opera. The 26th will be the turn of Diario di una madre, a cycle of 14 songs and two piano interludes. Dance will take over with the Niu collective, accompanied by dancers from the Hamburg Ballet (July 28). On July 29 and 30, the festival offers a double date with Sílvia Pérez Cruz, who will present her music, before ceding the stage to choreographer Lorena Nogal with the show Le Terroir on the 31st.
August will begin to the rhythm of Vivaldi's Four Seasons reinterpreted in the show 4 Danced Seasons (August 1 and 2). Chamber music and local roots will be noted with the Trio Fortuny and the special collaboration of Judit Neddermann (August 5), followed by a tribute concert to veteran organist Montserrat Torrent on the 6th. Sara Blanch and Michael Spyres will fill the gardens on August 8, while maestro Jordi Savall and Núria Rial will delve into Italian baroque on August 9. As a golden culmination, on August 29, the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra will arrive in Peralada to offer a selection from Richard Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung.
Cap Roig Festival in Calella de Palafrugell
The Cap Roig Festival returns, one more year, to the botanical garden of Calella de Palafrugell, to become one of the great summer festivals on the Costa Brava. After opening in early July with the rock of Bryan Adams, the festival resumes its programming on July 10 with the singer-songwriter Víctor Manuel, followed by the international pop diva Anastacia on July 11. The voice of Amaia will take the stage on July 17, while the nostalgia of the eighties will arrive with the British Rick Astley on the 18th. The quartet of León Café Quijano (July 24) and the elegant night of jazz and piano with Diana Krall (July 25) will close the first part of the festival.
August will maintain the musical rhythm with the concert of Miki Núñez (August 1), the pop of Taburete (August 2) and the proposal of Antonio Orozco on the 3rd. Opera lovers have an unmissable date with the tenor Juan Diego Flórez on August 4, followed by the young Valeria Castro (August 5). But one of the most anticipated nights for the Catalan public will be the concert of Lax'N'Busto on August 6, who will review their career full of great Catalan rock songs. The singer Pablo López (August 7), the British Mika (August 8) and the children's show El Fil Invisible (August 10) will open the way to the final stretch with Rosario, Malú, 31 FAM, Luz Casal, Ana Torroja and the closing by Miguel Ríos on August 18.
Festival Mar d'Estiu in Maresme
The Festival Mar d'Estiu is the new summer festival in Maresme, a commitment by the Santa Susanna City Council that has the experience of the promoter TheProject. This cycle was born in 2024 with the aim of becoming a musical and gastronomic meeting point in its Garden space. The 2026 edition will premiere on July 31 with the Italian Zucchero and his blues-rock. Saturday, August 1 will be the turn of the Gerundenses Sopa de Cabra, leaving Sunday 2 for one of the most complete nights with the double concert of Els Amics de les Arts and Ginestà.
August will continue to offer nights for all tastes: the flamenco-pop of Niña Pastori (August 4), the rock and leather jacket of Loquillo (August 5) and Joan Dausà on the 6th. Antonio José (August 7) and the living legend of rock Miguel Ríos (August 9) will prepare the ground for a very special night on August 12, which will bring together on stage the new phase of Leire Martínez alongside the duo Marlena. Humor will also have a stop with the Nit d'Humor by Miguel Miguel, Isabel Rey and Andreu Casanova (August 13), before closing the edition with the pop of Sergio Dalma on the 16th and Rosario on August 17.
Brunch Electronik Festival 2026
The event that was born on Sundays in Montjuïc under the concept of Piknic Electronik has evolved to consolidate itself as one of the reference festivals for electronic music lovers. From August 7 to 9, Barcelona will celebrate the fourth edition of the Brunch Electronik Festival 2026, which will feature more than 100 programmed performances. For this year, the organization has opted for technical innovations that will improve the audience's experience: new stages, optimized sound, and a step forward in terms of sustainability.
The lineup for this edition includes the world exclusive of Canadian producer Kaytranada, who will offer his only performance in the entire peninsula this year at the Fòrum. The DJ will present a set that fuses electronic, hip-hop, and R&B. The program also features names of the stature of Jeff Mills, Eric Prydz, Paul Kalkbrenner, Floating Points, and The Blaze's DJ set.
Sons del Món Empordà in the Ciutadella de Roses
The Sons del Món festival in Roses offers a pairing between the DO Empordà wineries, historical heritage, and music. The festival is divided into two main lines: the massive concerts within the walls of the Ciutadella de Roses and the intimate small-format recitals directly in the wineries of the region. The program in the Ciutadella will open on July 25 with the pop of Pablo Alborán. On Friday, July 31, a night of Catalan pop will be experienced with a triple luxury lineup: Els Amics de les Arts, Blaumut, and Ramon Mirabet.
On August 1, nostalgia and rock will take over the venue with the return of two historic bands: Lax'n'Busto and Gossos. The week will continue with concerts by Rosana (August 5), Niña Pastori (August 6), Sergio Dalma (August 7) and Joan Dausà on the 8th. Sunday, August 9, is expected to be one of the most festive nights of the summer thanks to the double concert of Fangoria and Nancys Rubias, closing the Ciutadella on August 10 with the tribute by God Save The Queen.
On the other hand, the Wineries cycle will offer unique proximity experiences with very reduced capacities: Carlos Núñez will perform on August 11 at Celler Martín Faixó; Manu Guix will offer a concert on August 13 at Celler Massís de l'Albera; actor and comedian Quim Masferrer will perform on August 15 at Celler La Vinyeta; and Roger Mas will close the cycle on August 21 at Celler Vinyes dels Aspres.
Festivals that have already passed through Barcelona
Barcelona has already experienced three major events that traditionally inaugurate the "festival" season. The Primavera Sound opened its doors in early June, turning the city into the world capital of independent pop and alternative rock, with headliners such as The Cure, Gorillaz, Massive Attack, Doja Cat, The xx, Skrillex and My Bloody Valentine.
Days later, the event for music, creativity and technology returned with Sónar at Fira Gran Via and Sónar+D at La Llotja de Mar. It was a festival full of electronic rhythms and digital innovation, with artists of the stature of The Prodigy, rapper Skepta and DJs Charlotte de Witte and Amelie Lens.
And, the first weekend of July, the Vida Festival hosted concerts in the forest of Masia d'en Cabanyes. Vilanova i la Geltrú once again offered its family oasis of pop-folk with artists such as Fatboy Slim, Charlotte Cardin, Guitarricadelafuente, Amaia and Ralphie Choo.
An industry that generates more than 850 million euros
The success of summer festivals in Catalonia is also measured by their weight in the economy. According to reports from the Generalitat and Barcelona Music Lab, the music industry in Catalonia already generates 850 million euros annually and supports more than 379 companies in the sector. In addition, data from the Live Music Yearbook confirm that a record figure of 163.2 million euros in turnover from ticket sales has been reached.
The edition of Primavera Sound injected a record figure of 339.5 million euros into the economy and generated more than 8,600 jobs. A study by the consulting firm Deloitte for the Festival Castell de Peralada calculated its direct contribution to Catalonia's GDP at 12.9 million euros, in addition to some 300 jobs in the province of Girona.
The Festival Terramar CaixaBank de Sitges is another example. Its official economic impact reports indicate that it generates nearly 9.8 million euros, of which 4.5 million remain entirely in the local economy.
This summer, Catalonia offers a wide variety of music festivals to celebrate summer with an unforgettable soundtrack. The red carpet is already laid out, you just have to go out and enjoy.
