Fluidra continues to grow internationally. The Catalan company has agreed to acquire BAC Pool Systems, a manufacturer and distributor of pool covers operating in Germany and Switzerland. The operation, which will close during the first quarter of 2025, strengthens Fluidra's position in Central Europe and expands its range to these products, which allow for progress in pool sustainability.
BAC, which has a team of 60 people, estimates to reach sales of close to 13 million euros this year, with an EBITDA of 2.5 million. The company manufactures both automatic and manual and safety covers for residential and commercial pools.
Fluidra has opted to acquire the company in a context where covers are increasingly in demand in the market, as they reduce water evaporation by up to 90% and also prevent heat loss from the pool, which generates savings in water and energy consumption.
"With BAC, we expand our cover offering in Central Europe, geographically complementing our current market presence," as highlighted by Fluidra's CEO, Jaime Ramírez. Thus, this acquisition is part of Fluidra's growth strategy.
Within this strategy, the company based in Sant Cugat del Vallès has recently acquired other companies, such as the NCWG group in Portugal and S. R. Smith in the United States. The operation also responds to Fluidra's commitment to sustainability, with which it aims for more than 80% of its products to be sustainable by 2035.
From BAC, the delegate of its board of directors, Heinz Sommer, has applauded the operation, as "the alliance not only guarantees BAC's long-term success, but also strengthens the ability to serve customers and boost growth in the region."
