Five Guys will expand its presence in Barcelona starting this autumn. After its locations in Plaza Catalunya, Diagonal Mar, La Maquinista, and Sagrada Família, the American burger chain will add a new spot on Diagonal, according to Expansión.
Five Guys' fifth establishment in the city will be located at number 449 on Diagonal, where there was previously a restaurant of the El Racó chain, specialized in Mediterranean cuisine.
This stretch of Diagonal is characterized by the presence of different decoration brands, such as Kave Home, Maisons du Monde, or Casa Viva. Precisely, next to where the new restaurant will be, an Ikea store opened a few months ago, with a different approach than usual, including only spaces dedicated to the exhibition and assisted sale of kitchen and bedroom items, without the possibility of being able to purchase them in person.
The favorite burgers of former United States President Barack Obama are also expanding with new locations in the rest of Spain. This Friday, the first location in Malaga will be inaugurated, the fourth to open this year and the twentieth that the chain has in the country. The company's plans are to reactivate the growth rate it had before the outbreak of the pandemic, with between six and eight new establishments per year.
