How does a family business prepare to pass from one generation to the next? How does a business founded by parents transform without losing its essence? And what role do new generations play in ensuring its continuity and driving its growth? These are some of the questions that will center the second meeting of En Clau Familiar, the itinerant cycle of conversations promoted by ASCEF, EY and The New Barcelona Post, which will arrive in Reus next November 18.
Under the title The challenge of generational succession, the session will bring together Andreu Pintaluba, general director of Andrés Pintaluba, and Santiago Oliva, executive president of Grup Oliva Motor. Both share a key experience: they are members of the second generation at the head of businesses founded by their parents. Based on their journeys, they will discuss how to assume leadership, adapt the company to new times, and ensure the continuity of the family project.
The meeting will take place at 12 p.m. at the Círcol de Reus and will feature initial interventions by Patrícia Terradellas, president of the host entity; Rosa Tous, corporate vice president of TOUS and president of ASCEF, Rosalia Soler, EY partner in Barcelona specializing in auditing, and Guillem Carol, editor of The New Barcelona Post and general director of Must Media Group. Journalist Jofre Llombart will present and moderate the conversation.
Attendance is free, but mandatory prior registration is required to attend.
Generational succession, one of the great challenges of family businesses
The transition from one generation to another is one of the most decisive moments in the trajectory of a family business. Beyond the change in management, succession involves managing expectations, redefining responsibilities, and finding a balance between preserving the inherited legacy and introducing new ways of doing things.
The conversation between Pintaluba and Oliva will allow addressing these challenges from two different business experiences, but with a shared starting point: having assumed the responsibility of continuing and evolving the projects initiated by their parents.
A meeting to share experiences and generate debate
En Clau Familiar is an itinerant cycle that travels through different parts of Catalonia to share experiences and reflections on the main challenges of family businesses. After the first meeting in Osona, dedicated to the relationship between business and territory, Reus will be the second stop, before closing the tour in Girona, on December 1, with a session focused on talent and the role of employees within the family business.
The meeting in Reus will end with a snack and networking area, designed to encourage exchange among entrepreneurs, executives and professionals in the area.
