Under the slogan Vuelve la ilusión (Hope Returns), Automobile Barcelona 2021 will be held between September 30 and October 10 with the intention of being the first major trade fair event with a post-pandemic public. The show will host the novelties of 23 car brands and will feature electric cars and decarbonization as protagonists.
As an international showcase for the automotive sector and its advances, the brands attending the event will present 15 new car models, with almost all vehicles equipped with electrified engines, and three personal mobility vehicles. Among the premieres, there will be one world novelty and one European novelty.
Automobile Barcelona, which celebrated its centenary in its last edition in 2019, is organized by Fira de Barcelona with the support of the Spanish Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac). True to its historical trajectory, the event will serve to bring closer to citizens the transformations that the sector is experiencing and that are already a reality, as there are already more than 150 electrified models available on the market, according to the general director of the National Association of Automobile and Truck Manufacturers (Anfac), José López-Tafall.
"We are facing an unstoppable change in the world of mobility and we are proud of the trust that brands have placed in us as a great platform from which to explain these trends," explains Enrique Lacalle, president of the show.
Lacalle expresses the importance of holding this in-person event, obviously adapted in its format and dimensions to the current context. "The show is the result of a great collective effort and our commitment to the automotive industry that has crystallized into an event that wants to restore hope to the sector, to motor enthusiasts, but also to the entire city, to which the show has been deeply rooted for more than 100 years." In this sense, Lacalle adds that "we will be the show with the most brands of those held in Europe, becoming once again, one of the reference events in the motor world and an unbeatable platform to connect with the general public".
During the eleven days of the show, the first two reserved for professionals, a wide variety of electric vehicles will be displayed and participants will be able to learn about and experience the latest technologies applied to automotive, getting behind the wheel of the latest models exhibited by the brands.
