Who said there are no cultural plans in Barcelona in August? The city's live music calendar remains packed. Spaces like the Palau de la Música Catalana do not close their doors and, during the hottest months, hosts its annual Estiu al Palau summer series. But there are many more options! Temples of live music like the Jamboree or the Harlem Jazz Club (the oldest jazz club in the city) continue with their usual program of jazz, blues, soul, or R&B concerts.
In addition, music in August has a very special date at the Poble Espanyol with the Nits en Viu, a series of tribute concerts that pay homage to great bands of all time: The Beatles, AC/DC, or great divas like Madonna or Tina Turner. La Garfield: Latin funk at Jamboree

This August, La Garfield makes its Spanish debut. It is one of the most interesting phenomena of independent Mexican music thatwill perform in an intimate setting. The Jamboree venue will host their fusion of soul, jazz, and Latin rhythms, a style with which the band has been filling stages around the world. An infectious groove, a very elegant horn section, and a great stage presence is what defines this group.

Saxophonist and composer Jordi Blanch returns to the Mas i Mas Festival to prove that Barcelona's jazz scene can stand alongside the very best on the international circuit. With his band Jazz Pretenders, he works to demonstrate that jazz is not a museum piece, but a living style that can work perfectly with rock and funk. In addition, for the concert on August 7, the band will feature the voice of Marian Barahona, which gives the performance a warmer and more intimate register.
Ray Cuza & Quinteto Sazonando: Cuban son at Harlem

The Harlem Jazz Club hosts the concert of Ray Cuza & Quinteto Sazonando, a group of Cuban musicians who have decided to pay tribute to their musical heritage from the first half of the 20th century. In their repertoire, we find great classics such as the guaracha of Ñico Saquito, the boleros of Sindo Garay, or the legacy of Compay Segundo. August 7 will be a night with Cuban essence and perfect for listening, singing along and dancing.
The Sinful Souls R&B Revue at Harlem

The Sinful Souls is a music band that fits perfectly into the Harlem atmosphere: a pure and unadorned live performance. This is a band led by the cracked voice of Brian O’Mahony and that proposes an immersion into the great classics of soul, blues and rhythm & blues (R&B). In the concert they will offer in Barcelona, they will feature a special guest: the saxophonist Pedro Vera.
Emma Stratton at the Palau de la Música Catalana

Within the Estiu al Palau cycle, the Palau de la Música offers concerts by emerging talents who are managing to stand out in the world of classical music. This is the case of Emma Stratton, one of the most promising Catalan pianists today. Stratton faces a program that ranges from the delicacy and romanticism of Schumann's Fantasía en C major to the contained violence of Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 2, to close with the technical display of Liszt's Rhapsodie espagnole.
Festigàbal 2026
Friday 15 and Saturday 16 August.
The Jardins de la Sedeta host, one more year, Festigàbal, the emerging music festival organized by Heliogàbal within the Festes de Gràcia. This festival has established itself as the ideal showcase for the Catalan independent scene. This year, the Gràcia neighborhood will become an open-air festival for two nights that will host very diverse music groups: the urban pop of Fades or Ouineta, the music of Balma, Gigi Ros, Habla de mí en presente or Ypnosi.
Pin-Hong Lin at the Palau de la Música

Within the Estiu al Palau cycle, we also find the recital by pianist Pin-Hong Lin who was the winner of the Premi Fundació Orfeó Català at the Concurs Maria Canals 2025. Pin-Hong Lin will offer a very varied and personal recital on August 17: the program goes through Beethoven's Sonata núm. 28, through the colorism of Albéniz's Iberia and culminates in the mysticism of Scriabin and Chopin.
Live Nights at Poble Espanyol 2026
From Wednesday to Sunday throughout the month.
The Poble Espanyol has the perfect recipe for summer evenings: from Wednesday to Sunday, the main square fills with tribute concerts to great names in music. The program is divided by very clear themes: Wednesdays are dedicated to salsa and bachata with the Fiesta Caribe (with performances by Eurosalsa and Yadira Ferrer); Thursdays are for classic rock with the Rock & Grill cycle (with concerts that pay tribute to The Beatles, Rolling Stones or AC/DC).
On Fridays, it's the turn of pop and 90s music with the Queens’ Nights; and on Saturdays, Poble Espanyol is tinged with rumba with the Fritanga! parties. The closing, on Sunday 30, will have a charitable character in favor of Rock Pels Xuklis with tributes to Barricada and Los Suaves.
Bayreuth Festival Orchestra & Heras-Casado at Palau de la Música

Without a doubt, this is the musical event of the summer in Barcelona. In a historic alliance between the Perelada Festival and the 150th anniversary tour of the Bayreuth Festival, the German orchestra will take over the Palau de la Música for one night under the baton of Pablo Heras-Casado and a world-class vocal trio (Catherine Foster, Klaus Florian Vogt and Nicholas Brownlee).
On stage, a selection of scenes from Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung will be performed to make us experience one of those monumental evenings that turn Barcelona into the musical capital of Europe.
Hermanos Gutiérrez at Liceu

The musical closing of August in Barcelona could not be more special. Brothers Alejandro and Estevan Gutiérrez will bring their distinctive instrumental sound to the Gran Teatre del Liceu for two consecutive nights. The Swiss-Ecuadorian duo will present their atmospheric guitar-driven sound of Sonido cósmico, their latest work produced by Dan Auerbach (The Black Keys) with a sound that evokes cinematic landscapes. It will be an atmospheric and very elegant concert, the perfect plan to bid farewell to August in style.
