The 3D printing solutions manufacturer, BCN3D Technologies, consolidates its expansion in the United States with a new logistics center in New Jersey, the first of its kind outside its headquarters in Gavà (Barcelona).
The establishment of this center will strengthen the manufacturer's services and delivery of machinery and accessories to meet the needs of sectors such as automotive, engineering, and manufacturing. At the same time, it reinforces its relationship with the brand's current partners, Matterhackers, Dynamism, Shop3D, and 3D Platform. It will also provide BCN3D with greater agility for order deliveries in North America, as product transits are eliminated and service is provided from US soil, allowing them to deliver more shipments to a greater number of customers.
"The new center in New Jersey will offer great business opportunities starting in 2022, improve our relationship with customers, and represent BCN3D's commitment to environmental sustainability, as we consolidate larger shipments for more customers with a logistics center closer to them in North America," emphasized BCN3D CEO, Xavier Martínez Faneca.
The commitment to the North American market has been made after the growth experienced in this area in recent years. For this reason, BCN3D has also appointed a channel sales director for the United States, Kevin Billett, who will lead a team of sales representatives to improve relationships with North American distributors and lead BCN3D's expansion in the region.
Created in 2011 as a spin-off of the CIM-UPC technology center in the field of additive manufacturing, the Catalan company closed last September the acquisition of the US firm AstroPrint, a company specialized in creating standard software for 3D printer control. The firm, founded in 2013 in San Diego, California, specializes in cloud solutions that allow remote printer management.
BCN3D Technologies, which had a turnover of 4.1 million in 2019 (latest available data), started 2021 with a workforce of 150 professionals and the inauguration of new facilities in Gavà. A growth that was partly financed by a capital increase of 2.8 million euros executed in 2020.
