Located in the heart of the city, the new TOUS Space is born to experience, train, and anticipate new design and brand narratives

Barcelona continues to reinforce its position as a creative capital with a new space that brings together talent, business, and knowledge. The Catalan firm TOUS, in collaboration with Elisava, has inaugurated TOUS Space, a hub located in the Gothic Quarter that was born with the aim of exploring the futures of design and creativity from an applied perspective.

Located in Passatge de la Pau, a few meters from the Cathedral, the new space will function as an idea laboratory at the service of students of the Postgraduate in Creativity for brands in unexplored futures and researchers of the TOUS–Elisava Chair. Far from being just an academic environment, the hub has been conceived as a real work environment, where concepts can be tested, prototyped, and projects developed with a clear connection to the industry.

TOUS Space is structured as a multidisciplinary meeting point where fields such as branding, product design, packaging, and space creation converge. This transversality responds to a growing need in the sector: to train profiles capable of facing complex challenges from a hybrid perspective.

The hub is closely linked to the TOUS–Elisava Chair, promoted by both institutions with the aim of breaking the boundaries between creativity and design, and bringing emerging talent closer to the real challenges of the market. Since its creation, the initiative has connected more than 5,000 people from academic and corporate fields, consolidating itself as a knowledge platform with international projection.

With the launch of this physical space, the project takes a qualitative leap: it goes from being a network of content and programs to becoming a tangible ecosystem of innovation.

Barcelona, epicenter of TOUS's creative commitment

The inauguration of TOUS Space is part of a broader company strategy to strengthen its ties with Barcelona, a city that continues to serve as an international showcase for the brand. In this sense, the new hub dialogues with other recent initiatives, such as the remodeling of its flagship store in Passeig de Gràcia into CASA TOUS, a hybrid space that combines retail, craftsmanship, and creative collaboration.

With this double commitment—a commercial space converted into an experience and a hub oriented towards research—, TOUS reinforces a key idea: innovation not only involves the product, but also the way knowledge is generated and shared.

TOUS Space is born, in short, as an environment designed to activate new perspectives on design and jewelry, but also on the role of brands in a context of constant change. A space to experiment, make mistakes, and start over, with the support of a structure that connects training and business. In a city that has been committed to creativity as an economic engine for years, initiatives like this consolidate Barcelona as an urban laboratory capable of attracting, training, and retaining talent. And, above all, of turning ideas into projects with real impact.

Rosa Tous: "It's a lot of responsibility for your surname to be a brand"

Leading with identity: company, family, and city

Beyond the physical space, TOUS Space also fits into a way of understanding business that combines global ambition and local roots. In a recent meeting of the True Leaders series, organized by EY and The New Barcelona Post, the corporate vice president of TOUS, Rosa Tous, reflected on the weight—and value—of building a brand with one's own surname: "It's a lot of responsibility for your surname to be a brand."

The phrase well summarizes one of the tensions that run through the growth of many family companies: growing, internationalizing, and innovating without losing their essence. In the case of TOUS, this identity has been built on proximity, humility, and a clear desire to "keep their feet on the ground," even while operating in more than 40 markets.

This same logic is now transferred to initiatives like TOUS Space, which not only seek to generate innovation, but to do so from an ecosystem connected to the city, to local talent, and with a long-term vision. Because, as Tous also pointed out, the challenge is not just to grow, but to do so with a clear direction: to build today what will allow them to continue in a hundred years.
