Mercè Conesa Pages

Lawyer specializing in Urban Planning and Land Management. She holds a degree in Law from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has a master's degree in Law and Public Management from Pompeu Fabra University, a Senior Management Program from IESE, a Leadership Program for Public Management from IESE, and another in Leadership and Innovation in Public Policies from ESADE. In 2018, she was appointed president of the Port of Barcelona, a position she held until July 2021. From the Port of Barcelona, she promoted the strategySmart Portto boost the digitalization and decarbonization of this infrastructure. Conesa, who was mayor of Sant Cugat del Vallès from 2010 to 2018, and president of the Barcelona Provincial Council from 2015 to 2018, has extensive experience in public management and has been director of the Catalan Land Institute (INCASOL). She has actively participated in several World Urban Forums and has collaborated with UNHabitat in the reflection on cities. Currently, she is the general director of Barcelona Global.
