YPlasma's technology to improve the thermal management of electronic devices has emerged as the winner of the Catalan Startup of the Year award. The startup has developed a device that allows creating plasma to heat, ventilate, or improve the aerodynamics of devices and objects such as airplane wings or wind turbine blades.
YPlasma has been proclaimed Catalan Startup of 2024 after winning the Catalan Pitch Competition, organized by Acció within the framework of Tech Spirit Barcelona. The company has been recognized for its technology and impact, and was the most voted among the 24 finalist startups, out of a hundred that had submitted applications.
Tech Spirit, organized by Tech Barcelona, has gathered nearly 4,000 attendees at the Llotja de Mar. In its fourth edition, the event featured 150 speakers in 60 conferences. Within the event, Acció organized 600 meetings between startups and investors to boost their funding and continue promoting the Catalan entrepreneurial and technological ecosystem.
"The goal is to have 3,000 startups in Catalonia by 2030, but above all that they are technologically differential, because they are a fundamental axis for building the society of the future," defended the executive director of Acció, Joan Romero.
This entrepreneurial and technological fabric has a meeting point in Tech Spirit: "We have had great entrepreneurs, investors, and corporations, in a demonstration of why Barcelona is a world-leading technological hub," claimed the president of Tech Barcelona, Miguel Vicente.
