WeTribu, a club only for executives and entrepreneurs

The startup creates a collaborative space between company leaders who help each other overcome challenges and identify opportunities

This 2021 has been the takeoff year for WeTribu, a Barcelona startup that has promoted a community of business leaders with CEOs and owners of companies such as Voronet, YouPlanet, Fil Katia, Zenement, and Som Mobilitat. WeTribu's goal is to generate a space of trust and confidentiality where managers can support each other in decision-making. A place to resolve doubts, share experiences, and acquire new knowledge in both the business and personal spheres.

WeTribu's formula is based on regular support for each company through monthly meetings between company CEOs ---where different blocks are addressed, such as personal accountability, commercial and team challenges, awareness, and leadership---; individualized follow-up sessions with an expert coach according to each company's needs, and permanent connection with community members through a technological platform where learning webinars are also held.

This is a model based on circles of trust, formed by 12 to 14 leaders, which helps organization CEOs reflect together, learn, and grow through the exchange of experiences. Its proposal is articulated through a membership contract, with a fee of 390 euros per month.

The formula is quite widespread in countries like the United States, but here, in Spain, until the birth of WeTribu in 2019, the idea was still in an embryonic phase. The project is the work of entrepreneurs Tomás Andreu, co-founder of Bwin in Spain and co-creator of Esade's Momentum social enterprise acceleration program, and Gonzalo Míguez, corporate lawyer and co-founder of the Coevolució hub. Both realized the need entrepreneurs felt for a space with these characteristics from their personal experience. "The burden of keeping a company alive, the doubts when making decisions, and the loneliness of that position… Many times we longed for a space to share all these feelings with peers," Míguez details.

The Catalan emerging company launched a pilot test of its services in February 2020. In March, it had to convert to digital support due to the pandemic and, finally, this 2021 it has been able to start operating at 100%,after closing an investment round in which it has raised around 250,000 euros. Its members are, mostly, entrepreneurs with at least two or three years of experience, they have a staff of between ten and one hundred and fifty employees and a turnover ranging from one million euros to fifty million. Currently, they work in Barcelona and Madrid, although their idea is to expand throughout the country.

The turnover they expect to have in five years is two to three million euros. The current pandemic situation, say the founders, has produced an acceleration in the transformation of organizations, an aspect that has benefited them: "Business leaders face a new reality that they need to address with different strategies to anticipate post-coronavirus challenges," argues Andreu. That's where WeTribu gains value.

Several members of the community have already wanted to transfer the company's model to their own businesses. This is how a second line of business for WeTribu was born: One Vision, a space where professionals who are part of an entity share experiences and learn from each other in order to collaboratively improve the business.
