After closing its complex at the old Cercs power station, the Horrorland terror park will reopen on October 15 at Isla Fantasía, in Vilassar de Dalt. Cannibal tribes, out-of-control prisoners, killer clowns, and Mexican rituals will silence ---or make scream--- the daring who decide to visit the new facilities. A completely new terrifying offer, designed from scratch.
Those who are not afraid of scares cannot be distracted. In just 15 days, 40% of the available tickets for this new Horrorland season, which will only have 11 opening days, have been sold.
"There is a lot of excitement for Horrorland and this encourages us a lot," explains one of the organizers, David Moreno, as seen when sales opened and the computer system crashed.
With prices starting from 35 euros, the park expects 16,500 visitors and will be open until mid-November. The complex has incorporated measures to prevent contagions, such as selling tickets for groups, with the aim of creating bubble groups.
Impact on the territory
The mayor of Vilassar de Dalt, Carola Llauró, and the mayor of Premià de Dalt, Josep Triadó, attended the presentation of the new Horrorland season. Both municipalities estimate that the arrival of this park will mean a 30% increase in tourism during the opening season.
For the promoters of Horrorland, Cristina Raya and David Moreno, the choice of Isla Fantasía has been ideal, taking into account its proximity to Barcelona, accessibility by public transport, and the available extension and land. The initial investment to launch it is around 1.5 million euros. "We provided the land and Horrorland the talent. It was love at first sight from day one," added the owners of Isla Fantasía, Josep Maria and Joan Cama.
Likewise, the return of this park will mean the hiring of 170 workers, including access staff, catering, games, logistics, and actors. For newcomers to the world of terror, Horrorland will train them in the art of giving scares.
