Barcelona reaffirms itself as a strategic point for the expansion of new international brands. The latest company to bet on the Catalan capital has been Polestar, a high-end sports electric car firm that has opened its first dealership in Spanish territory on Paseo de Gràcia.
It is a 200 square meter establishment located at number 84 of the central avenue, between Provença and Mallorca streets, in a premises previously occupied by an emblematic BBVA office. Since this week, it hosts an exhibition space for the Swedish company, where its latest innovations in technology, sustainability, design and innovation are displayed, in addition to offering customers the opportunity to test drive its luxurious vehicles.
Last May, the Gothenburg-based firm put its latest model, the Polestar 2, its first 100% electric car, on sale in Spain. This design is in circulation in Europe, North America, China and Asia Pacific, and is expected to expand its presence and establish itself in a total of 30 markets by 2023.
At the beginning of the year, the Chinese car brand Lynk & Co opened a new dealership concept in the same area, unprecedented in the entire country. According to Gonzalo Senra, director of the real estate services consultancy CBRE, in charge of advising Polestar's arrival in our country, "Paseo de Gràcia is excellent for its tourist importance, commercial areas and variety of businesses".
