Vicens Vives opens new corporate headquarters in Barcelona. The historic publishing company, specialized in textbooks and educational content for all school stages, has moved from Avinguda Sarrià to an office building located at number 260 of Via Augusta, at the confluence with General Mitre.

The new facilities have an area of 1,000 square meters and are occupied under a rental agreement, as the owner of the property is the insurer Reale. According to the company, about 190 employees are assigned to this new headquarters, which allows optimizing workspaces, in addition to facilitating communication between teams and adapting to new flexible work methods. The facilities that the publisher has occupied until now have been put up for sale, although the company is also open to negotiating a rental.

Vicens Vives highlights that the new location is "in a strategic point" of Barcelona, as the Via Augusta/General Mitre area is recognized "as one of the areas with the highest school density in Europe." "This change of location aims to strengthen Vicens Vives' commitment to the educational community and thus allow a greater reach in the creation of innovative solutions for the educational field," says the company, which in 2022 had a turnover of around 30 million euros, 10% more. The goal for 2023 is to grow by 25%, point out in the publishing house, which has Jaume Vicens as CEO.

Employees do not have a fixed assigned workspace.

To promote innovation, the Vicens Vives EducationTech Lab has been created in the new corporate headquarters, a space intended to be a meeting point between the educational community and content creators. This laboratory has been designed following the parameters of the Future Classroom Lab of the European Schoolnet project, which replicates the configuration of a real classroom with furniture that encourages collaborative learning. It is expected to become the setting for educational events, training sessions, and talks, in addition to being a center for showcasing the latest technological innovations applied to the education sector, such as Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality.

"The relocation of our headquarters and the creation of the Vicens Vives EducationTech Lab mark an important milestone in our commitment to offering innovative solutions for the educational community," states Jaume Vicens, who is "enthusiastic" about having "a space that fosters collaboration and the exchange of knowledge among educators and content creators."

With a trajectory of more than 60 years, Vicens Vives creates educational content for all school stages, and is especially a reference in the teaching of geography, history, and literature subjects. In addition, it offers a wide range of resources that adapt to the needs of each classroom, teachers, students, and families.
