The Port of Barcelona will be filled with lights, attractions, workshops, and gastronomic and artisan stalls from Monday, December 5, to Friday, January 6. More than 85,000 LED lights will illuminate the Moll de la Fusta this year, with central elements such as overhead decoration and a walkable Christmas ball. A nativity scene and the Three Wise Men will also liven up the atmosphere from the water, where historic boats from the Maritime Museum of Barcelona will dock, adorned for the occasion and available for visits.
The fourth edition of Nadal al Port will feature a new 400-square-meter ice rink, which will join the one that will also open this year at Tibidabo. The skating will be complemented by a 65-meter-high Ferris wheel, an antique carousel, and a small train. A wide range of gastronomic products will also be available for tasting, as well as artisan and gift products.
In addition, Port Vell will have different spaces for the dissemination of port and maritime culture, where workshops and activities for children will be held. For example, they can learn to be stevedores by moving cargo containers, get started in the world of rowing, or enjoy the sea by playing. The educational initiatives will be carried out by the Catalan Sailing Federation, the America's Cup, the Nautical Institute and Faculty, the Royal Maritime Club, the Barcelona Swimming Club, or Sails for Alzheimer's, and will have the support of companies such as Hutchison Ports Best.
Local entities and music schools will also have their space, filling the stage with different performances. More than 500 people will perform during the celebration of the Christmas Market, which will also host a charity dance to raise funds for La Marató.
The schedule for Nadal al Port will be from 11 in the morning until 10 at night, while the light and color show will take place every day starting at 5:30 in the afternoon.
The lighting of the lights will be on Monday, December 5, at 7 in the evening. The event will begin with a performance by the Cors de Palau Vincles and the Cor Mitjans de l'Orfeó Català, who will perform traditional pieces, and will culminate with the music of Edu, a participant in the musical contest Eufòria.
