The La Caixa Foundation prepares to face the coming years under the general direction of Josep Maria Coronas. The entity, chaired by Isidro Fainé, has renewed its organizational structure and its executive committee, which will include Esther Planas and Sergi Loughney as deputy general directors and three sub-directorates, led by Àngel Font, Marc Simón, and Rafael Chueca.

This new team will form the entity's executive committee, appointed by Coronas to address the foundation's challenges in the coming years and to prioritize collaboration and transversality of the entity's different areas. All of this, with the aim of simplifying its structure and gaining transparency, and to design its new strategic plan for the period 2025-2030.

Specifically, Esther Planas will be in charge of the areas of Finance, Legal, Media and Operations, and People and Organization. Planas, until now deputy director of Finance, Legal and Infrastructure, will also lead the management of the Palau Macaya. For his part, Loughney will be deputy general director of Corporate Affairs, from which the functions of Communication, Marketing and Institutional Relations will depend. Loughney, until now director of Institutional Relations, will also coordinate the institutional activity of CaixaForum, CosmoCaixa, Palau Macaya and the Cap Roig festival.

In this reorganization of its structure, the entity has created a new Sub-directorate of Research and Scholarships, which Àngel Font will captain and which will bring together all activity linked to research institutions and the management of the foundation's scholarship program.

In addition, Marc Simón will continue to be responsible for the Social General Sub-directorate, which maintains its structure and functions to manage the foundation's social calls programs. For his part, Rafael Chueca will continue at the head of the General Sub-directorate of Culture and Territory, which manages the entity's cultural activity, its territorial and center structure.

The new configuration of the executive committee will be responsible for leading and coordinating the different areas of the foundation and its teams. In addition, it will periodically incorporate the entity's corporate directors to form a new foundation management committee, with the aim of continuing to deploy the activity it has been carrying out for more than a century.
