The first meeting of this debate and reflection space will address the challenge of housing with prominent people from the real estate sector, from the public and private spheres, with influence on the residential park of Barcelona and Catalonia. The objective is to foster dialogue, shared knowledge and strategic alliances in this key area for the economic and social development of Catalonia.
The session will feature a round table with the participation of Jaume Fornt Paradell, deputy general director of Protected Housing and associated Land of the Agència d'Habitatge de Catalunya; Carles Sala, director of the Colegio APIS and member of the housing working group of Pimec; the architect Blanca Noguera, head of the Housing and Innovation service of the Institut Metropolità de Promoció de Sòl i Gestió Patrimonial (IMPSOL) with a long career as an architect at IMPSOL; and Xavier Güell, director of CBRE Barcelona, who has led many of Barcelona's major real estate operations in recent years and, since 2020, heads the international consulting firm's business in Barcelona. The table will be moderated by journalist Elena Busquets, new director of The New Barcelona Post.
The institutional welcome will be given by the president of Pimec, Antoni Cañete and, after the debate, attendees will be able to enjoy a cocktail-networking, with the aim of strengthening the link between professionals from both fields.
Housing, financing and energy
After the Eixample Talks on housing, in November it will be the turn of financing. In the second session of the cycle, which will take place on November 5 at the Pimec headquarters, experts will analyze access to financing from both a public and private perspective. Subsequently, in December, the focus will be on energy, a key area in a context where its demand continues to increase.
In all sessions, the series is presented in a transmedia format, with in-person attendance and subsequent availability in video-podcast format, thus facilitating its dissemination and impact beyond the physical meeting. Seating is limited and prior registration is required to attend.
This initiative is carried out thanks to a strategic alliance between Pimec and The New Barcelona Post, who jointly undertake the production and dissemination of the events. The meetings have the collaboration of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Bankinter, the Port of Barcelona, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), Mustmedia and LLYC.
