The Corpinnat Gastronomic Festival is facing a second edition with the aim of consolidating itself as one of the reference events of summer nights in the Penedès. With the dual vocation of bringing consumers closer to the wineries and the territory where the sparkling wines of this European collective brand are produced, and supporting restaurateurs, the association has scheduled 45 dinners next to the vineyards between June 15 and July 31. Around 2,000 people are expected to participate in these evenings, which will feature the participation of about forty chefs from all over Catalonia.
The idea is for each restaurant to prepare a menu designed to be paired with the corpinnats from the ten participating wineries. This second edition of the festival will kick off on the 15th at Recaredo, with a dinner served by the Vicus restaurant. Prices range from 55 to 155 euros per person, depending on the winery and the culinary proposal signed by each chef.
In some cases, the menu will be prepared by two prestigious chefs, in the so-called four-hand dinners. Noteworthy is the proposal Fire, embers and Rock & Roll, which chefs Xavier Pellicer and Víctor Quintanilla (Lluerna) will prepare for Gramona's diners. The night of June 20 will also be special at Gramona, when the dinner Noche de Tramuntana (Tramuntana Night) has been scheduled, signed by four chefs: Quim Caselles (Casamar), Marc Caner (Diferent), Tomàs Brull (Ca la Taverna) and Xavi Madrona (Godard).
Restaurants such as Nomo, Cal Mut, Cal Pere del Maset, Cal Xim, Denassus, Divinum, El Cigró d'Or, Els Casals, Restaurante Arturo, Xerigots or El Convent, and chefs such as Sergi de Meià, Josep Maria Kao or Carles Gaig will also participate in the festival. In addition to dinner and pairing ---which must be booked online---, the wine tourism proposal includes the option of visiting the participating wineries beforehand: Gramona, Recaredo, Torelló, Nadal, Llopart, Sabaté i Coca, Can Descregut, Huguet-Can Feixes, Júlia Bernet and Pardas.
The eleven producing companies that are part of Corpinnat marketed 2.3 million bottles in 2021, a 35% increase, with a combined turnover of 23.1 million euros. 83% of the bottles sold last year had more than 30 months of aging in the cellar and 28% exceeded 60 months, a figure that is well above the average for sparkling wines. 19.7% of the production was exported to a total of 55 countries.
