The multinational company in the swimming pool sector Fluidra is finalizing the construction project for the new wellness area of the Club Natació Atlètic-Barceloneta (CNAB) facilities, located on San Sebastián beach in Barcelona. Fluidra will have the new relaxation space completed by the end of the first quarter of this year, in which the sports club is investing around 1.4 million euros.

The design has been configured as a space with sea views that includes a recreational stainless steel pool, equipped with water games and hydromassage at a temperature of 36 degrees; and two contrast pools, of different temperatures; as well as a relaxation area with sauna, steam bath, showers with different aromas and temperatures, ice fountain and space to place heated benches and a salt wall.

The project occupies 421 square meters and will replace the current spa area of the sports club, for which Fluidra is a regular supplier for various services. In 2020, the Catalan company listed on the Ibex35 enabled the water areas of the facilities as freecovid areas to guarantee the safety of the entity's members.

The improvements to the wellness area are part of a broader renovation of the sports club's facilities, which has already included the construction of the new indoor cycling room, whose works began last November, and the conversion of the fronton into a covered sports court.

Currently, the aquatic facilities of Club Natació Atlètic-Barceloneta include an indoor pool of 33 x 25 meters for swimming and water polo, a discipline in which the club is a sporting leader and of which Fluidra is a sponsor. It also has three outdoor pools, one of 20 x 13 meters for bathing and another of 25 x 21 meters for swimming. On the beach, it has a 25 x 20 meter Skypool panel pool, built by Fluidra about six years ago. The facilities, covering more than 22,000 square meters for the entire sports complex -- a good part of them outdoors -- also include an indoor pool for learning and therapeutic activities of 12.5 x 6 meters.

Founded in 1913, the Club Natació Atlètic-Barceloneta is one of the oldest swimming clubs in Spain and, after overcoming the year of the pandemic, currently has nearly 10,000 members. The non-profit entity manages these sports facilities of the Barcelona City Council, which are located on land belonging to the Barcelona Port Authority (APB). At this moment, the club has a concession for the exploitation of the sports complex until the year 2033.
