Bellesguard Tower is one of Antoni Gaudí's most unknown works. With the aim of making it known, those responsible for this modernist building decided to promote Eat Gaudí, a gastronomic market that mixes restoration and culture. They decided to do so after the good experience they had hosting Bcn en las alturas, a market of fashion, accessories, and decoration stalls.
Like Bcn en las alturas, Eat Gaudí offers a reduced entrance fee to visit Bellesguard Tower, priced at 10 euros. According to Anna Mollet, the building's manager and promoter of the initiative, a third of Eat Gaudí attendees take the opportunity to see Gaudí's work.
In its first edition, in 2019, the gastronomic market received 4,000 attendees. A year later, in the midst of the pandemic, the organizers decided to maintain it, and participants numbered 1,500, a figure affected by capacity restrictions, which at that time limited it to 30%.
Three years later, Eat Gaudí returns this weekend. From Friday to Sunday, foodtrucks will invade Bellesguard Tower, with proposals for all audiences and tastes, Mollet emphasizes.
For food, there will be rice dishes (El Socarraet BCN), crepes (Les Creps Bretones), hamburgers (Cafe Chrome and La Capital), pizzas (Cafe Racer Food Truck), croquettes (Divina Croqueta), Asian cuisine (Yon Wang) and poke bowls (Hula Poke Food). Desserts will be handled by Real Nata, Pastisseria Pepo Ulldemolins, La Mar Bakes and Franuí.
One can choose between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. For example, one can try wines from Finca Viladellops and Born Rosé, and teas from Potts Tea Moments, as well as venture into the creative experiences of Xperifun.
Eat Gaudí has designed a gastronomic offer for all audiences and tastes, with pizzas, crepes, rice dishes or croquettesAs a novelty this edition, Eat Gaudí will incorporate concerts into its program, with performances such as that of the folk music trio River Omelet. The offer will be complemented by tastings ---of sweets, beers, and wine---. There will also be activities for children and a dog daycare.
The hours will be from 1 PM to 10:30 PM on Friday, and from 11 AM to 10:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The entrance fee to the gastronomic market will be five euros, and the prices of dishes and drinks will be set by the different foodtrucks.
