FC Barcelona is finalizing a sponsorship agreement with the Swedish company Spotify, for 280 million euros, for the next three seasons, from July 2022 to June 31, 2025. The terms of the agreement would include that Spotify would name the Camp Nou and sponsor the men's and women's team jerseys, replacing Rakuten and Stanley, respectively.

In addition, the Swedish music streaming company would also be on the back of the training jersey, currently occupied by the Turkish company Beko, which pays about 19 million annually for it.

According to information advanced by RAC1, negotiations between the Blaugrana club and Spotify executives have intensified this week. In fact, Spotify's top management was present in the Camp Nou box to watch the match between Barça and Atlético de Madrid last Sunday.

The FC Barcelona board, under the presidency of Joan Laporta, has been looking for a sponsor for months since the agreement with the club's current sponsor, Rakuten, expires in June of next year. In November 2020, Barça and the Japanese firm signed a one-year extension to the contract that ended in June 2021, with a reduction in the annual contribution established at 55 million annually, to leave it at 30 million for the current season.

Hours after the possible new sponsorship agreement became known, the club's general director, Ferran Reverter, has announced that he is leaving the sports entity's board of directors. In a statement issued by FC Barcelona, Reverter has expressed his willingness to leave the position for personal and family reasons, although he will continue to exercise his responsibilities until a new director is appointed.

Reverter, according to the note, assures that these months have been exciting, "but now I want to focus on the purpose for which I returned to Barcelona, which is to dedicate more time to personal and family projects." However, in football circles, his resignation is attributed to his disagreement with the pact established between Barça and Spotify. Reverter joined the general management of FC Barcelona in July 2021, coming from Germany, where he lived and was the global CEO of the Media Mark chain.
