Paseo de Gràcia remains the most expensive shopping street in Spain, according to a report by the consultancy Cushman & Wakefield. With a prime rent of 3,180 euros per square meter per year, the Barcelona avenue improves its position and is placed 16th in the world ranking, led for the first time by La Via Montenapoleone in Milan. With the participation of almost a hundred cities around the world, Paseo de Gràcia has managed to move from position 17 to 16 after registering a year-on-year growth of 6% in its rents.
Occupied by luxury brands such as Dior, Bvlgari, Versace, Loewe and Prada, Paseo de Gràcia is closely followed by calle Serrano, in Madrid, with rents of 3,060 euros per square meter per year, taking the second position. Portal de l'Àngel, the leader in Barcelona until Paseo de Gràcia overtook it a few years ago, and the Gran Via in Madrid tie for third position, with a prime rent of 3,000 euros per square meter per year.
Beyond Paseo de Gràcia and Portal de l'Àngel, the most expensive shopping streets in Barcelona are Pelayo, in 11th position in the Spanish ranking with rents of 1,380 euros per square meter per year; Rambla Catalunya and Avenida Diagonal, tied in 13th position, with 1,020 euros per square meter per year, and Portaferrisa, in 14th position, with 960 euros per square meter per year.
Globally, the top 10 has seen this year how La Via Montenapoleone in Milan with a rent of 20,000 euros per square meter per year surpassed Fifth Avenue in New York, which has taken second place with a rent of 19,537 euros per square meter per year. In third position there have also been changes with New Bond Street in London, which has unseated with a prime rent of 17,210 euros per square meter per year Tsim Sha in Hong Kong, which has fallen to fourth position with rents of 15,697 euros per square meter per year.
The Parisian Champs Elysees (12,519 euros/m2/year), Ginza in Tokyo (11,582 euros/m2/year), Bahnhofstrasse in Zurich (9,585 euros/m2/year), Pitt Street Mall in Sydney (7,832 euros/m2/year), Myeongdong in Seoul (6,719 euros/m2/year), and Kohlmarkt in Vienna (5,4000 euros/m2/year) complete the ranking of the ten most expensive shopping streets in the world.
