The 28th Nit de l'Empresa of Cecot has once again gathered representatives from the business, political, and institutional spheres. For the first time, it held its annual dinner in Sant Cugat del Vallès, where the president of the employers' association, Xavier Panés, assigned tasks to the administration. The businessman asked the administration to optimize its size and increase its efficiency. He said this before some 800 people, including the President of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, and the Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños.
Before the representatives of the Government and the Generalitat, Panés insisted on the need to promote the simplification, streamlining, and professionalization of administrations. "It is time to take action, and the possible political cost must be assumed for the good of our society," added the president of the employers' association. He warned that the business community feels "mistreatment from the administration towards the administered." Tools such as digitalization and artificial intelligence should facilitate this modernization, which should be demanded from the administration in the same way it is asked of companies.
In the presence of Minister Bolaños, Panés lamented the level of funding and investments by the State in Catalonia, which he describes as insufficient and unfair. "From a business perspective, it would seem logical that the State's strategy would involve empowering a Catalonia that is still its best store and its best factory, but this is not and has not been the case." Panés, who assumed the presidency of Cecot a year ago, has opposed measures to reduce working hours being carried out unilaterally by law and uniformly across all sectors.

The evening has not been a watertight meeting oblivious to political debate, and the negotiation of the investiture of the Government Presidency has crept into the interventions. Before Bolaños, Aragonès warned that the negotiation is "stalled" and that time is running out.
Family business values
The general director of Frit Ravich, Judith Viader, has received her award as Personalitat 2023 highlighting the value of family businesses and the values of work and commitment. She spoke on behalf of those recognized by the employers' association, which this year has distinguished Club Natació Terrassa, Comser and the transport company TGO DX.
The Cecot employers' association has also awarded the clothing and jewelry brand Mindtraveler BCN, the camper van brand Nomade Nation, the Centre Dental Les Escoles, Leitat Technological Center and the Associació Sant Cugat Empresarial. Moventia and Texia have also been recognized as centenary companies associated with Cecot, in an event that featured The New Barcelona Post as a collaborating media outlet.
Symbiosis between human and artificial intelligence
The Cecot business gala addressed the relationship between human intelligence and artificial intelligence, in an event opened by an avatar of journalist Xavier Coral. Avoiding a catastrophic perspective, the employers' association approached the matter from the conviction that the human and technological factors must represent a symbiosis.
Human intelligence can act as the engine for artificial intelligence to form a balanced binomial that drives progress. This was proposed at this annual business meeting, which for the second consecutive year has been a carbon-neutral event.
