The logistics space developer Panattoni has reaffirmed the project to build the largest Data Processing Center (DPC) in Catalonia in the Parc de l'Alba in Cerdanyola del Vallès, a facility that will have an installed power of 42 MW.
The North American multinational has just formalized the purchase and sale of a 68,000 square meter plot for an amount of 30.67 million euros. The total estimated investment for the development of the project will be 300 million euros, as explained by the Parc de l'Alba Consortium, made up of the Catalan Land Institute (Incasòl) and the Cerdanyola del Vallès City Council.
Its first phase, which will begin construction at the end of 2023, will have an area of about 42,000 m². The design and construction of the center will be carried out by Quark and the operator will be chosen in an orderly process that will start this April, reports ACN.
The land acquired by Panattoni is located along Avenida de la Ciencia, 20 minutes from Barcelona, where companies such as Natura Bissé, Stradivarius, Sener and La Caixa, among others, are already located. They have direct access to the AP-7 highway and are next to buildings and facilities dedicated to research and innovation such as the Alba Synchrotron and the Science and Technology Park and the UAB.
