The US multinational industrial surface promotion company Panattoni has announced that it will invest some 100 million euros in the construction of what it expects to be the largest data processing center in Catalonia. To carry out the project, it has acquired from Incasòl a plot of about 68,000 square meters of floor space, valued at 30.67 million euros, in the Parc de l'Alba industrial park, in Cerdanyola del Vallès.
The project was announced this Wednesday by the Vice President of Digital Policies and Territory, Jordi Puigneró, at the presentation of Parc de l'Alba in Cannes, where he participated in MIPIM, the main international real estate fair being held this week.
Puigneró highlighted the importance of the location of this center in Catalonia for the digital development of the territory, "turning Parc de l'Alba into the most important Data Center hub in the country".
Panattoni has had offices in Barcelona since 2020Panattoni, which has not given details of its purposes, specializes in industrial and logistics projects and opened offices in Barcelona in 2020.Since then, in Catalonia, it has closed two operations. On one hand, last December, the purchase of El Corte Inglés' logistics base in La Bisbal del Penedès and, previously, it acquired a 47,000 square meter plot in Castellbisbal to build an industrial park that will house a warehouse ofcrossdockingfor last-mile distribution.
Impar Capital will build a student residence
Incasòl has also closed a second operation in Parc de l'Alba, the industrial area where the Alba Synchrotron is located and very close to the campus of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. It has been the award to Impar Capital of an 11,500 square meter plot, for an amount of 5.93 million euros, where it will build a student residence with capacity for 357 places. The company plans to invest 5.93 million euros in what will be its first center in Catalonia.
Impar Capital is a Madrid-based developer specializing in the promotion and consulting of real estate investment focused on the promotion, construction, adaptation and development of homes and commercial premises in the best areas of Spain and which in mid-2021 created a management company to invest in student residences and logistics.
