The medical technology company Palex Medical has contributed to the management of the pandemic over the last year. It has done so by increasing the supply of medical material, providing more than 400 ventilators, almost five million PCR tests, and 40 portable X-ray machines for lungs.
During 2020, Palex Medical recorded a good turnover figure, with 325 million euros, compared to 190 million in 2019, representing a growth of 71%. "This year, more than ever, we have dedicated our effort and talent to offer the best response to the healthcare sector and to the situation generated by COVID-19," says the company's CEO, Xavier Carbonell.
Headquartered in Sant Cugat del Vallès, the company was acquired by the private equity fund Ergon Capital Management early last year. This Belgian-origin manager took a majority stake, relegating Corpfin Capital, which had controlled it since 2016. Founded by the Knuth family, Palex Medical is present in Spain and Portugal and has a workforce of more than 600 employees.
