The new Barça Café, managed by Singularis, will finally open its doors this Saturday, May 15, after months of accumulated delays due to the pandemic. This is a project promoted by FC Barcelona to expand the gastronomic offer of Camp Nou and provide a new leisure option for club fans, who until now did not have a sportsbar of these characteristics next to the stadium. The Barça Café is located in the entrance area of the Barça Museum and is the first piece of a larger project: the future Rambla del Barça, which will involve a total remodeling of the ticket office area at Access 9.
With an area of more than 500 square meters, including the terrace, the Barça Café can accommodate 170 diners and is fully decorated with motifs linked to FC Barcelona, with walls covered with jerseys and photographs of the first team's historic achievements. The decoration also includes mythical club phrases, hydraulic tiles, and materials that imitate Gaudí's trencadís. The venue is equipped with large screens to follow matches when the team plays away.
At the new meeting point for culé fans, some of the players' favorite dishes can be tasted, such as Leo Messi's salmon with potatoes and baked zucchini, Dembelé's margherita pizza, or Jordi Alba's gazpacho with tuna. The menu, designed by the Iglesias Brothers' restaurant group, is based "on distinctive elements of Catalan gastronomy." Barça members can benefit from a 10% discount on all consumptions.
For now, the Barça Café will only open on weekends, with the idea of extending hours when the health situation improves. On match days, the restaurant will change its formula, focusing on takeout food. To celebrate the inauguration of the new venue, the Barça Museum will hold an open house this Saturday.
Singularis, responsible for managing the Barça Café, is the signature catering division of the collective catering group Serunion, owned by the French multinational Elior. Singularis manages other emblematic restaurant spaces located in museums, theaters, and auditoriums in Barcelona, such as El Liceu, the MNAC, and the TNC.
