Solving global challenges using innovative tools collaboratively. This is the objective of the NASA SpaceApps Challenge Hackathon, which will be held for 48 hours simultaneously in various cities worldwide. One of them will be the Catalan capital, which participates for the second consecutive edition in the international event.

The event aims to bring together professionals linked to science and technology to address global challenges. In Barcelona, they will meet at the free programming campus 42 Barcelona, located in the Barcelona Activa Technology Park and promoted by the City Council, the Generalitat, and the Telefónica Foundation. Globally, the event will take place in 320 cities in 150 countries, including Madrid, Urduliz, León, Malaga, Seville, and Gijón.

This second edition in the Catalan capital expects to attract students, professionals, and entrepreneurs linked to Steam disciplines, which bring together science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics, who will seek innovative solutions in areas such as sustainability, space exploration, health, and education, in response to problems posed by NASA and nine other space agencies.

The international event will boost Barcelona's innovation landscape and expand its connection with the global ecosystem. The event, which aims to promote creativity and collaboration among Steam profiles, will contribute to consolidating Barcelona as an epicenter of scientific and technological talent and to reaffirm its commitment to innovation, which positions it as an international benchmark.
