After a long drought, cruises will return to the coast of Barcelona. MSC Cruises has announced that it will reactivate its activity in the city starting June 26. It will do so with the MSC Grandiosa, which operates seven-night cruises.
The ship will embark from Barcelona every Saturday and head to Genoa, Civitavecchia (Rome), Naples, Palermo, and Valletta (Malta). Starting July 30, the port of Valencia will be added to the itinerary.
MSC Cruises will apply a strict hygiene and health protocol on board the ship. Among the planned measures, it stands out that passengers will only be able to disembark for excursions that guarantee isolation through bubbles, and all passengers will be tested before embarking and during the trip, as well as all crew members at least three times before embarking and weekly once on board.
Likewise, there will be an isolation space on board and close contact tracing, and a contingency plan is contemplated to avoid overloading local health services if positive cases are detected.
